New Noah Movie Has Very Little To Do With Biblical Account Of Flood.

“There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.”Genesis 6:4,7

About the only thing this Noah movie seems to have taken from the Genesis account of the flood is they spelled Noah’s name correctly. Past that, it seems to be a free-for-all in the artistic license department. The bible tells us that God (who is never mentioned by Name in the movie) sent the flood because fallen angels had mated with human women and produced a demonic offspring known as Nephilim, (the Hebrew word for giants). But in this movie, the Nephilim are the ones helping Noah build the boat. Typical liberal nonsense of making the bad guys into good guys. Progressives love revisionist history.

Adding to the non-biblical nature of this movie, there is a running undercurrent of “green” propaganda from the “climate change” people - Foraging with one of his sons, Noah instructs, “We only collect what we need, what we can use.” A movie like this is designed to cast doubt on the accuracy and believablity of the bible as true and trustworthy.

Hollywood Reporter: The narrative of the global flood that wiped out almost all earthly life is the original disaster story, one that’s embraced by most of the major world religions, which means that conservative and literal-minded elements of all faiths who make it their business to be offended by untraditional renditions of holy texts will find plenty to fulminate about here.

Already banned in some Middle Eastern countries, Noah will rile some for the complete omission of the name “God” from the dialogue, others for its numerous dramatic fabrications and still more for its heavy-handed ecological doomsday messages, which unmistakably mark it as a product of its time. But whether you buy these elements or not, this is still an arresting piece of filmmaking that has a shot at capturing a large international audience both for its fantasy-style spectacle and its fresh look at an elemental Bible story most often presented as a kiddie yarn.

One of the striking things about the Noah tale is that it presents a fallible Creator, one who admits to disappointments over shortcomings in the product of the sixth day of creation with the remark, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the ground, man and beast and creeping things and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” The exceptions are middle-aged Noah (Russell Crowe), his wife, Naameh (Jennifer Connelly), and sons Shem (Douglas Booth), Ham (Logan Lerman) and Japheth (Leo Carroll), who are estranged from the rest of humanity and live apart from it, struggling to survive in forbidding surroundings. source – Hollywood Reporter

Number four…

By Pastor Bobby Schuller

“Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.”
-Genesis 2:3

One day, my wife put together the Ten Commandments on this big piece of butcher paper. It was huge! She fastened it to the wall opposite our bed so that when I came into our bedroom, it was like whoa, okay! Hi, Moses!

So, we’re sitting in bed, talking at night before we go to bed. We’re praying with one another. Couples who pray together, stay together. Don’t forget that. And we were talking about these Ten Commandments. She’s staring at the scripture. We’re both looking at it. It’s a bit daunting because it’s the law, but she says, “Which one of these Ten Commandments do you think is most often broken?” So, I went through them all, examined them, and you can make a debate for many of them, but I said, “I’m going to go with number four: Honor the Sabbath and keep it holy.”

Now that is something that has been forgotten, not as much in Judaism, of course, but in large part, it has been forgotten in Christianity, this idea that God calls us to have a holy, tranquil, sweet rest on the Sabbath. There is this idea that we’re supposed to cease, to yield, to quit, to stop every once in awhile. There’s something about that which is built into our very nature.

Prayer: Dear Lord, my soul calls out for rest. Amidst the busyness of life, I need time with you that is quiet and time with my loved ones that is not rushed. Thank you for the gift of the Sabbath. Amen.

Reflection: How do you normally spend the Sabbath day?

That name…

By Pastor Bobby Schuller

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
-John 14:6

Jesus – that name causes each one of us to make a choice.

Those who followed Jesus when he was on earth seemed to go in one of two directions. Either they always wanted to worship him and follow him and be with him and hang on his every word, or somehow it went the other way where they wanted to plot against him and crucify him and see him dead.

The one word that was always used for Jesus was “wonder.” No one could be neutral with Jesus, and so it is so today. No one can be neutral with Jesus. There is no middle road with him. There is no lukewarm. There’s yes or no. There’s either/or. There’s the narrow and difficult road or the wide and easy road – one that leads to life, and one that leads to death. There is no middle ground.

Jesus demands everything or nothing. His name has power and every time his name is mentioned, whether you know it or not, your soul is reminded of a choice you have yet to make: Will I do what he says? Or will I do what I say?

Prayer: Dear Lord, I want to do what you say, but my own thoughts so often drown out your words of love and encouragement. I want to do the next right thing. Draw me close. Show me the way. Amen.

Reflection: What is your first response when you hear the name “Jesus”?

The Approval Process: Act Out.

Last October two puppies, brothers Jeffrey and Jermaine, were found wandering the streets of Philadelphia. Though both dogs were frightened and sick, Jeffrey had the greater challenge — he was blind. Determined to care for his brother, Jermaine literally became a guide dog. He constantly stayed within touching distance of his disabled brother, and Jeffrey leaned on Jermaine for support. Without any training, Jermaine became a guide dog. The puppies were always seen touching each other and even slept holding each other. Their story melted the hearts of Philadelphians, and the brothers had no trouble finding a home.

If animals can be that devoted to each other, shouldn’t we be the same? Galatians 6 tells us, as we have opportunity, to bear the burdens of others, especially to those who are of the household of faith. We can affirm, appreciate, and approve of others by the way we treat them. We can bear their burdens. Love is worthless unless it acts out, unless it’s expressed in deed and behavior.

That’s not just puppy love; it’s agape love.

Love is seen in what it does.

Throughout the Bible, angels seem to have an active role in ushering God’s children to heaven. In his book, Somewhere Angels, Larry Libby writes: “No one likes to go on trips all alone. Now, some fine day you will and I will see heaven for the very first time …. and that home will be so very much better than Disneyland, and sunsets, and mountain lakes, and snowy canyons that I can’t even tell you how much. And I don’t think God means for us to be alone when we travel to that new home …. The angel gets to be there when you see the shining beauty of your forever home for the very first time; when your eyes fly open and your mouth drops open, and the tears of happiness rush to your eyes, and you say, ‘Oh, my goodness! It’s more beautiful than I could ever have dreamed!’ And the angel gets to be there and share in it all!”1

We can’t fully visualize the wonder of that moment, but what a comfort to know we’ll not be alone as we travel from earth to heaven! No Christian is abandoned at the moment of death. The angels are the ushers, and our passage to heaven is under their escort.

When it comes to leaving earth for heaven, there’s nothing to worry about. God wants you home so much that He’ll send His own angel to meet you. And don’t be surprised if the angel is wearing a big smile.

Praying For Grace Of Preparation In Our Seasons Of Spiritual Growth.

Faithful God, I join my brothers and sisters in one accord, we call upon Thee to draw us into an intimate relationships with You, so that we may be fully empowered to draw others unto You and we want to bring Your deliverance to broken people and we desire to prevail in spiritual warfare as others learn to turn their hearts and lives over to You, this we ask through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen, Amen and Amen.

God of Divine Exchange, Lord Jesus, we exchange everything we are and have for all of You, we exchange our bondages for Your freedom and we thank You from the bottom of our hearts, for the grace of exchanging our sins for Your righteousness, we exalt and praise You for Your mercies towards us even as we worship in Jesus Name. Amen, Amen and Amen.

Gracious Father, when ever we feel as though we are merely marking time instead of marching into victories, we call upon Your Spirit, to help us to understand that You are placing us in season of spiritual growth and preparation for what lies ahead and with Your grace fully active in our lives, we shall continue to wait, live and walk in Your will for our lives to Your glory, we pray in Thy Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen, Amen and Amen.

O Lord, Our God, we trust You, not our feelings, thoughts, or circumstances, we refuse to believe the lies of the enemies but rather we grab the extraordinary grace availed to us to make this season, our seasons to spoil the enemies works, as we possess our spiritual promised lands of blessings and abundance, we ask this, and claim it over our lives in Jesus Victorious Name, we pray. Amen, Amen and Amen.

Cult Leader And Hate Preacher Fred Phelps Dead At 84.

Hate preacher Fred Phelps had his dispensations wrong. He was preaching like an Old Testament prophet while forgetting that we currently live in the Age of Grace because of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection from the grave. Make no mistake, God indeed does hate the sin of homosexuality, as well as the sin of fornication, drunkenness, gluttony, gossip and all the others mentioned in the bible. But Mr. Phelps forgot to preach what Jesus died and shed His Blood for, and that is simply this:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

If YOU are a lost sinner, run to Jesus with open arms and ask Him to save you in His Shed Blood. The bible says He absolutely will save all those who come to God through Him.

Shame on you, Fred Phelps. You were not a Christian.

(CNN) – Fred Phelps. the founding pastor of a Kansas church known for its virulently anti-gay protests at public events, including military funerals — has died, the church said Thursday. The 84-year-old died of natural causes at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to church spokesman Steve Drain.

God does hate homosexuality, He calls it an abomination in the bible. But Jesus Christ died to set the homosexual free from Hell. Click image to see how to not go to Hell.

Phelps founded Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas, in 1955 and molded it in his fire-and-brimstone image. Many members of the small congregation are related to Phelps through blood or marriage.

According to Westboro, the church has picketed more than 53,000 events, ranging from Lady Gaga concerts to funerals for slain U.S. soldiers. Typically, a dozen or so church members — including small children — will brandish signs that say “God Hates Fags” and “Thank God for Dead Soldiers.”

Phelps was often called “the most hated man in America,” a label he seemed to relish. “If I had nobody mad at me,” he told the Wichita Eagle in 2006, “what right would I have to claim that I was preaching the gospel?”

Under Phelps’ leadership, Westboro members have preached that every calamity, from natural disasters to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, is God’s punishment for the country’s acceptance of homosexuality. Phelps had advocated for gays and lesbians to be put to death. source – CNN

Storm shelter…

By Pastor Bobby Schuller

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’”
-Psalm 91:1

I spent six years living in Oklahoma in a little town called Broken Arrow just outside of Tulsa, and it has some of the worst weather around. Even on beautiful days, it’s usually windy. And because of this, Oklahomans are always ready for weather. They’re always interested in the weather. They’re always thinking about weather.

If you go to a Starbucks in Tulsa, for example, you will see people on their laptops looking at the weather forecasts for their towns. They’re thinking, “That’s interesting. Let’s see what kind of weather is going on in Michigan. Oh, that’s interesting.” People in Oklahoma are obsessed with the weather.

The reason I say this is that because, even though people in Oklahoma are obsessed about the weather, they’re always prepared for it. They have shelters. They have well built homes. They’re ready for the wind. They are never going to leave something expensive outside and allow it to be demolished by something as trivial as the weather. That would never happen in Oklahoma. Anything worth keeping outdoors is always stored in the shed where it belongs.

Jesus encourages us to be Oklahomans, to be ready for anything. If we follow Jesus, if we cleave to him and to his teachings, he will be our shelter no matter what comes our way.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for being my companion in good times and bad. Thank you for sheltering me in the storms of life. With you by my side, I need never be afraid. Amen.

Reflection: In what way has Jesus sheltered you during times of trouble?
