“It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking.
But there is a place where someone has testified: “What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?.
You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor and put everything under his feet.
” In putting everything under him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him.
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.”
Brothers and Sisters; In order to adequately understand the love that God has for his children and why a relationship with God is of the utmost importance – we must first understand the life of Jesus.
What was Jesus’ purpose?.
Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God was born to die!
His purpose was to be made just like his brothers – to live in the dying world, filled with temptation, sin, and death.
While Jesus was made like his brothers, Jesus was the only one that could live out his life without sin.
Jesus’ purpose was to live a perfect life, and to bear the weight of our sin and transgressions on the cross.
Jesus Christ was born to die!
Imagine being born into this world, knowing that your life exists only to be tempted, tested, beaten, spit on, abused, treated like nothing — and knowing that your life’s purpose is to bear the weight of the sin for those that did that to you!
This, is the Glory of God!
Verse 9 clearly states that Jesus Christ experienced the humiliation and suffering of death for all people.
His sacrifice was sufficient to pay the price for every sin, and his death makes spiritual salvation possible for anyone who accepts his forgiveness.
It is time to surrender!
It is time to give your life to God! It is time to entrust your life in the hands of the one and only son of God!
Brothers and sisters, why do we question?.
Why do we challenge?.
Why do we fear giving our lives to God?
“In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.
Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family.
So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.
He says, “I will declare your name to my brothers; in the presence of the congregation I will sing your praises.
” And again, “I will put my trust in him.
” And again he says, “Here am I, and the children God has given me.”
Atonement for our sins, for the worlds sins, for the sins of those that were before us and for those that will come after us was made through Jesus Christ.
Although Jesus suffered, this suffering was not needed to be made morally and spiritually perfect – it was to show the Power of God; and how Jesus lived in complete submission to the Father – even to the point of death.
Jesus is and always will be Lord and Savior! Verse 11 shows that when we believe in Jesus, we are part of the family!
“Those who are made holy” are those that have been redeemed, rescued, saved, liberated, and restored from the guilt of sin.
2 Peter 2:9-10 Says: “If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from the trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment.
This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful nature and despise authority.”
Do you want to be one that is held for the day of judgment?
“Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death – that is, the devil – and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants.
For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.
Because he himself was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.”
Because “we” are made human, it was necessary for Jesus Christ to become human as well.
Only as a true human being could Jesus Christ qualify to rescue the human race from satan’s power and restore people to a right relationship with God. Jesus: Born fully man, and fully God was and is the ONLY one that could bridge the gap that sin created between us and the Father.
Jesus won that battle, Jesus won the war, Jesus redeemed us from our sinful nature, Jesus is the one and only Son of God.
Born to die for our sins, born to die for our shortcomings, born to die for the very ways that we live our lives, Praise the LORD, for Jesus is our Lord and Savior!
Luke 9:23-24 “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.”
Our crosses might be unbearable at times, but it is necessary that we carry them, and that we take up our cross daily.
The imagery of the cross has been distorted!
Many people wear a beautiful cross around their necks, made of Gold, Silver, or other precious metal.
But the truth is, the cross that we should carry and wear around our neck, is the cross of commitment, the cross of following Jesus Christ, and living in complete submission to the will of God.
We cannot worry what others think, we cannot care what man thinks of our faith – because JESUS didn’t care what others thought of him, Jesus cared only what the Father wanted of him!
Does your Cross seem too difficult to carry?
Perhaps your cross is weighing you down, and it is easier to not carry it?
Pick up your cross right now!
Take it up, and ask Jesus to help you carry it!
Brethren; following God is not what satan wants for us.
Satan wants to kill, steal, and destroy our eternal lives.
Satan wants to keep us for himself, because he is a LIAR!
The enemy is trying to ruin our lives, our marriages, our families, our friendships, our relationships with those that we love.
The enemy wants one thing and one thing only….our lives!
The enemy is all around us, the enemy is around every corner that we turn – ready to take something away from us.
Picture your cross as a warning.
Picture your cross as a billboard for the enemy to see you carrying.
When you turn a corner and he sees you willfully carrying your cross despite the weight of it, the enemy knows that you are a child of God, and that you are carrying your cross to follow Jesus Christ.
It is a fool-proof way of keeping the enemy away from you – the enemy will not help you carry that cross – only JESUS CHRIST!
The enemy is a LIAR! The enemy is a CHEATER! The enemy is a THIEF!
We are children of God!
Matthew 10:38 Says: “Anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.”
It is time to surrender, time to give into what the Lord wants for us.
It is time to let go and let God have control over every aspect of our lives.
It is time to cast the enemy seven ways to the east and seven ways to the west.
It is time for us to believe that Jesus Christ was born to die for the sins that we are guilty of.
