The Spirit of Revelation.

Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 16:16-17

Peter heard the speculations of men and pondered them. Some thought Jesus was John the Baptist, or Elijah, or one of the other prophets.

But when confronted with, “Who do you say I am?” Peter listened to the voice that spoke above the voices of men.

Flesh and blood could not give him the right answer.

Only the Spirit of God could reveal the right answer to him.

In the Book of Revelation, John repeated the words Jesus often spoke, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

” He was not speaking of physical ears, but spiritual ears tuned in to God‘s spirit of revelation. The Spirit was not silent, but no one was listening in the Spirit.

Learn to be led by your spirit, or you will follow the dictates of your mind and your flesh.

Get in tune with your spirit, strengthening it daily with the Word.

Are you listening with spiritual ears?

Jesus, I confess that You are my Master, Savior, Lord,
Friend, Teacher, and my all in all. Amen.

{ Day 120 }.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

In him was life, and that life was the light of men.

The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. John 1:1-5

We best combat spiritual darkness in our lives by receiving more spiritual light! Darkness is driven out of our hearts by the entrance of the light of the revelation of Jesus.

Attempting to drive the darkness out of our hearts by ourselves is frustrating and futile, but when the person of Jesus is unveiled to our hearts, that is when His light enters our hearts and the darkness flees.

The same is true of natural light in a room.

It would be absurd to try to take buckets full of darkness out of a dark room.

Rather, we simply turn the light switch on, and darkness is automatically overpowered.

This principle applies to our spiritual lives as well.

We will wear ourselves out by trying to remove darkness only by focusing on resisting it. Instead, we directly attack the darkness in our lives by focusing on receiving more light.

God, the darkness in my heart is totally gone when the reflection of Your love abides there.

There is no dark recesses in my heart that are not overpowered by the light of Your love.

No darkness in the life of a sincere believer has the power to overpower the experience of God’s light or revelation.

Walking With Jesus.

I think it’s interesting to note those to whom Jesus chose to appear after His resurrection.

We don’t read about Him appearing to Caiaphas or Caesar.

Now if it had been me, the first person I would have appeared to would have been Pilate: “Yo, Pilate!

Remember me? Can’t keep a good man down, can you?” Or I would have appeared to Caiaphas, the high priest who, for the most part, orchestrated the crucifixion.
But it is interesting how Jesus appeared to two disciples on the road to Emmaus and joined them on their journey.

We don’t know who they were, and they are not mentioned again in the Bible.

The Bible tells us that Jesus appeared in another form to them as they went into the country.

In other words, He was going incognito. They didn’t know that it was Jesus.

The last sight they had of the Lord was His beaten and bloodied body.

Surely they wanted to get that image out of their minds.

There they were, walking along, and Jesus was walking with them.

It’s a reminder to us that at all times, even when we don’t realize it, Jesus is walking with us.

Isaiah 43:2 promises, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.

When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.”

Maybe when you are in church, you feel close to God.

But wherever you go, you can know that Jesus is with you there too.

When you are going through hard times, even when you cannot feel Him, Jesus is there.

Scripture Of The Day: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.

When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.” – Isaiah 43:2 (NKJV)

God’s Presence – Part V.

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” -Numbers 6:24-26 (NIV)

When Napoleon retreated from Russia, he left the rear guard action in the hands of Marshal Michael Ney.
Months passed; the army had arrived safely in Paris due to the brave actions of the rear guard. The battle over, in the officer’s club one night, some were wondering what had happened to the rear guard.
One speculated that they had probably been wiped out completely. At that very moment, the door opened and into the room stepped a gaunt, haggard man wearing the tattered uniform of a French general.
Staring blankly from sunken eyes, he just stood there, silent.
“Who are you?” one of the officers finally asked.
   “I am Marshal Ney.”
The officers gasped, stood at once, and saluted. Then one man ventured the question, “Marshal, where is the rear guard?”
The Marshal, later deemed the “bravest of the brave” by Napoleon, dropped his head as he answered, “I am the rear guard. There are no others.”
As Christians, we look at the cross and see Jesus Christ. He is our rear guard – there are no others! And in that action He is picking up the pieces, rehabilitating, restoring, filling the voids we left vacant.
If you’re carrying an old box full of unnecessary clutter, leave it behind and let God handle it.
If you have hurt someone, pray for them, talk with them, and let God heal the hurt. God goes before you, stands behind you, and walks with you!”

Dear Lord, at this very moment, peace fills my heart and mind because I know You are with me! Thank You for going before me in everything I do.
Thank You for walking with me through the trials and joys of life. And thank You for standing behind me, protecting me from being hurt or going astray. You are my Lord and my Savior! Amen.

Walking On Water (4).

“He walked on the water… to Jesus” – Matthew 14:29 NKJV

There are many good reasons for stepping out of the boat and trying something new, or something you may have failed at before.

It’s the only way to develop faith, it’s the alternative to being average, and it’s how you discover your calling.

But there’s an even more important reason. ‘… He walked on the water… to Jesus.’ Jesus isn’t in the boat, He’s on the water!

And you only develop deep-water faith when you’re willing to leave security and predictability and step out with Him.

Perhaps you have worked for years creating a manageable and orderly life, maintaining the illusion of control.

Now God is shaking everything up by asking you to step out in faith, allowing you to face waves that are over your head.

He does this for a reason: to increase your dependence on Him.

Maybe there was a time in your past when you risked sharing your faith, even though it meant facing rejection; or giving, even though it involved personal sacrifice; or serving, even though you felt totally inadequate.

Sometimes you sank, sometimes you walked, but you lived on the edge by faith.

Now look at you in your comfortable boat, you don’t even get seasick!

In fact, now you don’t even feel the storm when it comes. Any time you leave the security of the boat two things will happen.

First, when you fail, and you will, you won’t be alone.

Jesus will be no more than an arm’s length from you.

Second, every now and then when you do walk on water, it’ll strengthen you and enable you to do greater things.
