With every new level in life comes opposition. And with every opposition comes the opportunity to step further into the destiny God has for us or to step away from it.
When you see for the first time the headquarters of Lighthouse Chapel Internation, founded by Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, there is one word that comes out of almost every person’s mouth: Wow!
But as you dig into this church’s history, you will find another word that keeps popping up: opposition. It is about obstacles and how they dealt with them that has brought the church to where it is today.
Actually one thing that characterizes our Christian life is how we deal with opposition. What you see today in your life is a product of what was done with past obstacles.
Opposition is a sign that you cannot stay at where you are. Either you go further and higher or you go backwards and lower. Stepping stone or stumbling block? You decide.
When things oppose you emotionally, physically, financially, seize the moment and see it as an opportunity to step further towards the high calling God has for you.
Is there an obstacle you are facing right now that could go either way? Then you have a choice to make. Choose to turn it into a stepping stone, choose to let it bring forth fruit. Choose to do what is right when you are tempted to do what is wrong.
As we deepen our trust in God, we will be able to make of each block a stepping stone for He is the one who makes our crooked paths straight.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not trust in your own understanding. Agree with Him in all your ways, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NLV)
I have told you this, that His joy may remain in you and that your joy may be full! (John 15:11)
