“The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you…”
God wants you. He wants your attention. He wants to wean you from other distractions. Your security rests in him, alone – not in other people, not in circumstances. Depending only on him may make you feel like you’re walking on a tightrope, but there is a safety net underneath – his everlasting arms.
So, don’t be afraid of falling. Instead, keep your eyes and mind focused upon God. He is always before you, beckoning you on, one step at a time. Don’t get distracted by the turmoil around you. Peter took his eyes from Jesus and it got him into deep water. “Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:39).
Thank the Lord moment by moment for his presence in your life.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul for your moment-by-moment presence in my life. With you all around me, leading the way, I will never walk alone. Amen.
Reflection: How do you feel God’s presence in you life?
