Prayer zone for a better, empowering, inspiring, promoting, prospering, progressing and more successful life through Christ Jesus

AS complaints continue to pour in from the South-East geopolitical zone over the proposed national conference, another group from the zone, under the leadership of former vice-president, Dr

Alex Ekwueme, has kicked against the selection and decision-making formula proposed for the confab.

The group, South-East Peoples Assembly (SEPA), an organisation of elders, leaders, professionals, businessmen, intellectuals and other stakeholders from all the South-East states noted that with number of states available in different geopolitical zones, the conference representation would be skewed against the South-East.

The Ekwueme-led group’s grievances were contained in a release signed by its secretary-general, Dr Ifedi Okeuenna, a copy of which was made available to Sunday Tribune.

The Igbo group affirmed that the formula was unfair to the Igbo and called on President Goodluck Jonathan to amend the selection criteria for equality of zones.

“We thank the government for this opportunity. We, however, note, as always, that the South-East will, again, be coming to this conference with fewer delegates because of its less number of states. For instance, we noted that where other zones will be coming with between 18 and 21 nominees of the governors, South-East shall be coming with 15 delegates.”
