Never give up…

By Bobby Schuller, Hour of Power Pastor

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
-2 Corinthians 5:17

Jesus cares very much about this world. The way he lived in it is the way we are supposed to live in it. The things he cared about are the things about which we are to care. We are supposed to care that people know Jesus and go to heaven when they die, but we are also supposed to care about the body.

The body is important. Jesus saves them all. However, Easter shows us that God made the human body and that it’s something that he loves, cares about, and wants to rescue.

You may be sick, injured, weak, have chronic pain, are aging, or suffering in some way. You may be thinking, “I’m just going to give up. I hate this body. Who cares about the stupid body? I just want to go to heaven.” I understand why you may be thinking that, but please understand, that is not a Christian way view your life.

Jesus wants you to overcome your sickness. Jesus wants you to be healthy. Jesus wants you to pray and ask for healing. Do not give up until the last heartbeat. Never quit and never give up. Your body is sacred and holy.

Prayer: Dear Lord, the issue I’m experiencing with my body/health is ________. I pray to be healed. Amen.

Reflection: If you are experiencing a challenge with your health/body right now, how has this devotion encouraged you?
