Prophets, Shake the Dust Off Your Feet.

“Shake the dust off your feet.” I wasn’t really surprised when I heard the Holy Spirit say those six words—but when I read the Scripture in context, it sent me intointercession for the ones who rejected the word of the Lord.

The sad story begins in a local church where I was serving on the pastoral staff. The church’s works were good, reaching out to the poor with food, clothing and shelter. The pastor’s sermons were not theologically deep, but they were biblically sound.

Indeed, from the outside looking in, it looked like an up-and-coming church that was really being the church. It was a breath of fresh air. Soon enough, I discerned spirit of compromise invading the hearts of leadership. Decision after decision was made to please man rather than please God. I knew these man-pleasing decisions would eventually erode the truth of the gospel in that local body. I just didn’t realize it would be so soon.

The Sin of Compromise

Over the course of a year, I gently but directly pointed out areas of compromise. The senior pastor tolerated a woman with a spirit of Jezebel wreaking havoc in the church. He frequently attended “rock star” megachurch conferences and brought the seeker-friendly principles he learned back to the congregation. He refused to confront sin of all sorts, from adultery to homosexuality and beyond. Over the course of a year, my prophetic words of warning were pooh-poohed time and time again. I was told, in subtle terms, that I was missing God’s heart in these matters.

The day finally came when the compromise was so blatant that it sent me into weeping and travails for the church. After consulting with ministers more experienced and wiser than me, I boldly confronted the growing cancer in love with scriptural backing that could not be denied. But the prophetic correction was once again rejected—and not only rejected, but I was actually held in contempt for speaking the gospel truth in a Spirit-filled Christian church! And that’s when the Holy Spirit told me to shake the dust from my feet.

Let’s look at the Scripture: “Whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet” (Matt. 10:14). So what does it mean to shake the dust off your feet? I’ve heard that Scripture many, many times, but I had never studied it out until the Holy Spirit gave me the personal instruction.

Why Shake the Dust Off?

With regard to this verse, Matthew Henry’s Commentary suggests, “At their departure they must shake off the dust of their feet. In detestation of their wickedness; it was so abominable, that it did even pollute the ground they went upon, which must therefore be shaken off as a filthy thing. The apostles must have no fellowship nor communion with them; must not so much as carry away the dust of their city with them.”

That sounds hard-core but it’s reality. David Wilkerson used to say a “diluted gospel is no gospel at all.” A diluted gospel willfully allows compromise. A diluted gospel refuses to confront sin. A diluted gospel seeks to please man at the sake of grieving God. A diluted gospel tolerates Jezebel. A diluted gospel makes you feel good even when you won’t repent. A diluted gospel is powerless. A diluted gospel is no gospel at all.

Henry continues his commentary on shaking the dust off your feet: “It was to signify, that they were base and vile as dust, and that God would shake them off. The dust of the apostles’ feet, which they left behind them, would witness against them, and be brought in as evidence, that the gospel had been preached to them, Mark 6:11; Jas. 5:3. … They who despise God and His gospel shall be lightly esteemed.”

In Matt. 10:15, Jesus actually says it will be more tolerable in the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for the city that rejects the gospel. Whoah And that’s what sent me into intercession for the pastors that would not receive the gospel truth the Lord had me to deliver in slow and steady drips over the course of a year.

The reality is that a little compromise opens the door for a great compromise. Pastors who tolerate Jezebel will meet with a strong rebuke from Jesus (Rev. 2:20). Pastors who propagate a seeker-friendly gospel that makes people comfortable in their sin will have to give an answer on Judgment Day. Pastors who refuse to preach the gospel to sinners for fear of offending them will be held accountable.

Sometimes we have to shake the dust off our feet and even shake out our garments (Acts 13:51; 18:6). But before we do, we must have a clear conscience. We must do everything we can to reach those God sends us to. We must not leave with self-righteousness or anger but with weeping and intercession for those who refuse to hear God’s truth. Only then can we say, “Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean” (Acts 18:6). Amen.

Ukraine: The Consequences Go Beyond What We See in the News.

R. Loren Sandford

I feel compelled to call for intense and concentrated prayer for the situation inUkraine.

On the surface, it may appear to be only a political struggle between those who desire closer ties with Russia and those who want to integrate more closely with Europe. Having spent many weeks over a seven-year period ministering in Ukraine in both the eastern and western regions, I believe I can say with some certainty that a majority of Ukrainians in both the east and west do not desire a close alignment with Russia.

That being said, the real battle isn’t about political alignments or economics, although those things are indeed important. I believe there are underlying spiritual realities to be considered. I have long prophesied that Ukraine is a spiritual stealth torpedo in the arsenal of the Lord, a weapon of power that the enemy of our soul has not seen coming until now.

Historically, Ukraine has been a kind of innocent player on the world stage, ravaged by armies from Europe rampaging over it on their way to attack Russia and then trampled again by the armies of Russia driving back the armies of Europe. Ukraine itself has had little blood on its hands. Who would expect anything world-changing to come out of Ukraine? A parallel might be what the Jews said about Galilee: “They answered him, ‘You are not also from Galilee, are you? Search, and see that no prophet arises out of Galilee’” (John 7:52, NASB). The Jews used to ask, “Can anything good come out of Galilee?” And yet from Galilee came Jesus and the 12.

Powerful voices will arise out of Ukraine carrying a fresh stream of the Spirit and of power. Out of Ukraine’s relative innocence—and since the dissolution of the Soviet Union—a number of strong Christian leaders have been rising, mostly unknown and in hiddenness—hence my “stealth torpedo” metaphor. These are among the finest men of God I have met or had the privilege to know in my travels over the years. Although the number of charismatic and evangelical Christians in Ukraine remains small relative to the overall population, in terms of spiritual power and maturity their growth has been strong and wonderful to see. This has often been accompanied by signs and wonders that have garnered little attention outside of Ukraine.

It is my opinion that this political turmoil over the determination of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to align Ukraine with Russia and to turn away from economic alliance with the European Union strategically coincides with a time of ripeness for Ukrainian Christians. An underlying intent of the spiritual hosts of wickedness in this conflict is to dampen, squelch or hide the influence of a Ukrainianrevival and Ukrainian spiritual leaders upon the rest of the world, as well as to simply create as much human suffering as possible.

In short, please pray for Ukraine. The consequences of what happens there go well beyond what you see in the news. There are kingdom of God issues at stake.

James Goll Offers 5 Prophetic Insights for 2014 and Beyond.

James W. Goll

1. It Is a Time of Fire—A Fresh Baptism of Fire (Matt. 3:1-6; Acts 2:2-4; Lev. 6:9-13)

Recently the voice of the Holy Spirit came to me, stating, “I am releasing renewed weapons of spiritual warfare: fire, the catapult, and the battering ram.”

The fire of the Holy Spirit will fall, resulting in conviction of sin and fresh power encounters. Some will be catapulted into the future to bring back treasures into their now. At the same time, the old-time battering ram used to break down the enemy’s resistance, resulting in what was closed doors, in this year of the door will be bashed open.

This past Day of Atonement, prophet Bob Jones saw an egg being given to him. (To read the word on the Elijah List, click here.) As the egg broke open, fire was contained in the egg. We have had the wine of the Spirit, and now we will begin to experience the fire of the Lord. Live coals of fire from the altar of the Lord will be released in Jesus’ name, purging our lips and commissioning people to take the gospel of the kingdom to unreached people groups.

2. Call to All Watchmen: Attention, Be On the Alert (Is. 62:6-7; Matt. 26:40)

The first night I moved into my new house in Franklin, Tenn., a warrior angel I had not seen for 25 years appeared at the end of my bed and energetically declared, “Attention! Be on the alert!” It is a fresh call to watchmen on the walls to take their place, especially in protection for Israel, Syria and the Golan Heights.

There will also be a renewed local church prayer movement centered around the words of Jesus: “Could you not tarry one hour?” The three streams of the global prayer movement are the local church, houses of prayer and networks of prayer. They will learn to cooperate together in a greater measure.

3. Increased Detail in the Word of Knowledge (1 Cor. 12:8)

Recently the presence of the Lord came upon me, and the Lord stated, “The seeds sown by the seers and prophets into a young generation decades ago have now come into fruition. A detailed word of knowledge will be released again, creating an atmosphere of the fear of the Lord and awe and wonder.”

Watch for and welcome the revelatory gifts of the Spirit of a word of knowledge, word of wisdom and discerning of spirits.

4. Redemptive Interpreters and Hope Ambassadors Released (1 Thess. 5:8; Col. 1:27; Titus 2:13)

A work of cleansing is coming to the global prophetic movement, bringing us from being problem-focused prophets into solution-focused prophets.

The Lord has a remedy for misery-based Christianity, using modern-day Daniels who will walk in redemptive understandings. These hope-filled interpreters will honor the earlier waves of the Holy Spirit and the pioneering work of the former prophetic movements while reaching into the heart of God for His redemptive ways for future generations. It is time for the redemptive interpreters to emerge!

5. ‘I Will Restore’ (Acts 3:19-21)

Last year, one of the major words I released was, “The Holy Spirit is pushing the reset button.” In a similar manner, my heart beats with the word, “I will restore!”

According to Acts 3:19-21, Jesus will be retained in heaven until the restoration of all things, spoken by the holy prophets of old. This includes the restoration of the message, the messengers and the method.

This work of the restoration of all things includes:

  • The restoration of Israel
  • The restoration of fire on the altar (the global worship and prayer movement)
  • The full restoration of the supernatural
  • The restoration of compassion that acts
  • The synergy of the generations, the kingdom mandate and the church’s original commission: the harvest of souls to win for the Lamb the reward of His sufferings.

This is part of what I have been hearing, sensing, seeing and knowing that the Holy Spirit is doing in this hour. We each only see in part, and even the best only prophesy in part. But when we each bring our piece of the puzzle to the table, we will see with greater clarity the vision of things to come.

A Fresh Move of the Spirit and a Warning.

R. Loren Sandford
R. Loren Sandford

We are coming into the time of a new outpouring of the Spirit. This will not be a reliving of past revivals, nor a continuation of the movements of recent decades. It will be different in ways that would be difficult to explain apart from the actual experience of it.

I can say only that a fresh newness is coming to us who can receive it and that it will be more rooted in the Father’s heart and the character of Jesus than any that have come before.

Be aware, however, that historically whenever there has been a fresh move of the Spirit, opposition has erupted. It comes in two forms. The first comes from those who don’t really want the Spirit to move, who can’t handle the mess it makes or who find their theology threatened by it. It would seem that the spirit of religion cannot allow for anything to occur that human beings cannot control or understand.

I learned long ago that one person’s order and decency are another person’s boredom and death and that not everyone will be comfortable with the freedom revival brings. Hidden in what might outwardly appear to be chaos may be a well-established order and set of protocols.

On the other hand, beneath an outwardly reserved appearance, someone might be having a deep and powerful experience of God. Let criticism stop, and let us respect one another’s natures!

Realize also that it is biblically sound for God to act in ways that are unprecedented and out of the box. There was, for instance, no biblical precedent for the gift of tongues on the Day of Pentecost. While Joel and others foresaw the gift of the Spirit, no passage of the Old Testament could be construed as a clearprophecy of that gift. While God will never actually contradict Scripture or act in a way not consistent with His own nature, He nevertheless “does whatever He pleases” (Ps. 115:3), and we would be wise to make room for it.

The second form of opposition comes from those who want revival and don’t mind the mess it makes but who think themselves immune to deception. Specifically in these days to come, the enemy will access weaknesses and unhealed regions of the heart to twist words and perceptions in order to paint the leaders of that move of the Spirit as having less-than-pure motives or as having said abusive or inappropriate things that were neither said nor intended.

As the words actually spoken get twisted and changed, offense will be taken, then held in the heart and fed. If not actually altered, words spoken innocently and in righteousness will often be perceived in ways that distort their meaning and intent.

Those who get caught in this trap will be led to believe that their “discernment” is godly and accurate so that correction becomes exceedingly difficult and is often rejected. The enemy intends this to cause division and to wound and weaken leaders so that they cannot lead as effectively as God intends. Lest anyone in my own circles think I’m speaking specifically of you, know that I am in touch with pastors and leaders in many places who tell me stories that reflect the dynamic I’m articulating. It is not uncommon and comes with the territory.

This two-headed demon of opposition rises simultaneously with an increase in the move of the Spirit and blinds those caught in it to what is really going on. Not one of us is so holy as to be immune to this! I have been privileged to live through the charismatic renewal, the Vineyard movement, shades of Pentecostalism and lately the Toronto Blessing, and I have seen this dynamic played out every time God has launched a new thing.

To think that you are immune to it constitutes the kind of pride that comes before a fall. Don’t fall prey to the enemy’s strategy! Stand for oneness. Keep your heart clean. Before assuming anything about the heart of another or even what you think you understand from what you’ve heard or seen, ask questions and then honor the answers you receive.

What’s coming is glorious, but the way is narrow that leads to life.

Rick Joyner: 2014 Is a Roller Coaster Year.

Rick Joyner
Rick Joyner

When I prayed for this coming year, I was shown a roller coaster. This means we will have ups and downs this year. I realize that hardly takes a prophet to predict, but the encouraging thing about this vision was that the ride ended at the highest point. We’re going higher this year! So don’t be discouraged by the dips. Hang on, and know that we will be going up again soon.

Our prophetic friend Bob Jones told us several months ago that it was going to be a very hard winter. I think this one has already qualified for that. As I am writing this in South Carolina, it is 8 degrees outside. I don’t remember it ever being that cold here. However, the great thing is that spring will certainly follow. The point is that we must hang on during any dips or hard times. They will come to pass, but they will pass! As Winston Churchill once said, “When you’re going through hell, keep going.” Keep going.

The roller coaster I saw was very rickety. It did not seem that it could make it through another turn or the ups and downs. It held together, though. I love roller coasters, but this one was not the kind I would get on voluntarily. We don’t have a choice; we are on it. Even the strongest systems of this world are very shaky, and most can only make it through another day because God is holding them together. He is doing this for our sakes, so we should never stop praying for them.

A Glistening Train

In the vision, there was a platform at the end of this roller coaster ride. It did not look any stronger than the roller coaster, but as we walked across, it became stronger and stronger. On the other side, there was a beautiful, brilliantly glistening train, which we boarded. It was the most beautiful and well-appointed train I’ve ever seen.

However, as I boarded, I saw that when it left the platform, it would enter a long, dark tunnel that I could not see the end of. Even so, the tunnel was going up, and this was a powerful, mountain-climbing train.

We’re going up. It may be dark and a bit scary for a while, but we are going higher. That was the end of this vision.

Trains often speak of training in dreams and visions. We may still be on a rickety old roller coaster, but the vehicle that is going to take us to where we must go will be training. This speaks to me of Ephesians 4—the equipping of the saints to do the work of the ministry. Even though it may take a while for us to see where we’re going (the long, dark tunnel) we will be going up. This is the vehicle that will get us to where we must go.

The City God Is Building

It is the nature of the faith walk not to be able to see where you’re going, but you should know what you’re looking for. The one who started the walk of faith, Abraham, did not know where he was going, but he did know what he was looking for—the city that God is building, not men.

The cities that men have built are impressive, but once you see what God is building, you can no longer be impressed with anything man is building. It takes revelation to see what God is building. John saw Babylon until he was carried to a high mountain. Then he saw the New Jerusalem, which is the city that Abraham saw. It is still being built. Being a part of it is the highest calling we can have. Do you see it?

As we see in the book of Revelation, the New Jerusalem is the bride, the wife of the Lamb. As Don Potter recently remarked, it is an amazing thing how a bride can look like she is in shambles just minutes before the ceremony. However, in those last few minutes, she comes together and emerges so beautifully and so perfect that you know you have witnessed a great miracle.

This may well be just the way it happens with the bride of the Lamb. We may look like a disaster right up to the end and then, miraculously, we come together without spot or wrinkle. Never give up.

2014: The Year of God’s Goodness.

Matt Sorger
Matt Sorger
2014 will be a year where the body of Christ walks into the manifest goodness of God. The Lord spoke to me that He was closing old doors and opening new ones.
The doors of your past, He is closing and sealing with the blood, never to be opened again. And He is opening a new door in front of you, a door that will lead you into the goodness of God. This year will be a year where you not only believe by faith to see the negative turn for your good, but you will walk into the manifestation of it. This will be a year where the goodness of God is manifested in your life.
Let Go of Offenses
It is vital to let go of all offense and unforgiveness and have a clear heart and spirit. The enemy seeks to stir up offenses to clog you up and hinder you from receiving the blessings God has for you. Choose to release and wipe the slate clean. You will be free to enter the new doors God opens.
An Invitation That Requires a Response
God is extending an invitation that requires a response. He is inviting us to the banqueting table in 2014. In Luke 14:16-23, a man is giving a great supper and inviting many to come. But those invited begin making excuses why they can’t make it. They are distracted by things such as land, possessions, and family. These are all good things!
But in this story they keep people from responding to the master’s invitation. So the master has his servant go into the streets to compel the blind and lame into the supper because he wants his house to be full. The issue with those who had temporal possessions was they lacked a felt need and their attention was taken by other things.
The poor and lame have a very strong felt need and they are the ones who respond to the invitation. It’s an invitation to sit at the supper table and feast. At a table you relax, fellowship and eat. It’s a place of communion with others. God is inviting us into a deeper place of fellowship with Himself. He’s inviting you to recline at His table. God’s inviting us to the table of goodness. But it requires a response.
A Table in the Presence of Your Enemies
Psalms 23:5-6 declares, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over. Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place” (AMP).
God is going to set a banqueting feast of His goodness before you this year. And it will be right in the presence of your enemies. God doesn’t always remove your enemies. Sometimes He leaves them there so they have to watch you get blessed! There will be nothing the enemy can do to stop it. The only things following you will be God’s goodness, mercy and love!
A fresh anointing is being released. God’s presence will be your insulating dwelling place. As God’s goodness, mercy and love overtake you, you will also be overtaken by His presence. You will not have just enough. But you will know God as the God of More than Enough! You will overflow with His anointing and you will be able to help those around you.
A New Infilling of God’s Glory
As God manifests His goodness in your life you will also receive a deeper revelation of His glory. When Moses cried to see God’s glory in Exodus 33:19, God responded by saying He will make all His goodness pass before him. He also said He would proclaim His name and in doing so reveal His true character and nature to Moses. God reveals His glory, His very essence, which includes His mercy, grace, loving-kindness, truth, forgiveness and holiness. (Ex. 34:6-7) God’s glory is His goodness. His goodness is His nature.
Worship in Spirit and Truth
True worship attracts the glory of God. In 2014 God is aligning our perspective to accurately perceive the true nature of God. Circumstances will not dictate to you who God is. You will know God through His word. You will align your perspective and thoughts up with the reality that God is good. As you exalt His goodness and true character, you will also attract the tangible glory of God to your life.
In 2 Chron. 5, the priests lift up their voice in unity with the instruments and declare three specific things about God. God is good. His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever. Right after they make this declaration of worship, the house of God is filled with the tangible cloud of God’s glory. Exalting God’s true nature accurately will attract His glory and you will be a habitation!
Five Manifestations of God’s Goodness for 2014
Psalms 107:1-2 declares, “O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!”
God’s goodness will bring the following 5 things.
Psalm 107:9: He will satisfy the longing soul and fill your hunger with GOOD. God will satisfy and fill the hungry with His goodness.
Psalm 107:16: He will break the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron apart. Deliverance is coming in 2014. This will be a year of God setting the captives free!
Psalm 107:20: He sends forth His word and heals and delivers from the pit and destruction. God’s goodness brings healing and deliverance. Align your thoughts and belief systems with God’s goodness and see His healing and freedom breakthrough.
Psalm 107:29: He hushes and stills the storms. God’s goodness causes the storms of distraction, conflict and turmoil to be calmed in your life. You will enter into a season of God’s peace and rest.
Psalm 107:35: He causes the wilderness and dry ground to become pools of water. God is sending His presence in a fresh way that will cause the dry grounds to be saturated with His living water. Every dry area of your life will be refreshed.
In 2014 God is making all things new. He is causing our faith, our vision, our experience of His presence and anointing, our prayer lives, everything. He’s causing it all to become like new!

Chuck Pierce: See the Unlocking and Shaking in the Next Three Years.

Chuck Pierce

Hear the clock ticking, for the Lord says I have now catapulted you into the three years ahead.  And this day the dearest of My Months I say to You I am moving you against gates that have never been moved before.  And I am causing those gates that have withstood you in the past to have to come loose so they open in days ahead!  I say to you move strategically day by day and month by month until the gate that has held back yourblessing opens up.

For I say in the 3rd year the War of the Kingdoms will begin and kingdom will rise against kingdom.  But I say I have a Kingdom now I’m preparing and I will remember this Kingdom and the seed and the seed’s seed of this Kingdom.  So I say to you know this I have a Kingdom that will triumph.

For I am beginning a highway out of Egypt but I’ll redo the highway that you’re on.  And I say now, the demons that have been trafficking and even creating trafficking throughout the earth, I Am going to unnest their headquarters.

And I’ll surprise you with the leaders of this Nation, for I have ways to cause them to bow their knees, and you think they’re going one way but you watch Me knock the feet out from under them.  And you watch them see Me in a way they’ve never seen Me before!

You’ll hear of shakings from North to West!  You’ll hear that I have come from Alaska to Maine to shake but it will be the center of this Nation that I now shake saith the Lord.  And I will cause that which has been hidden and controlling the forces of this land to shake down!

For I say to you make favor with those that even have come into places and you say, but they have evil character. I can cause every Pharaoh in this land and the lands that you’re a part of to favor you in days ahead!

And even today I call you My Army that is unstoppable. But even as in the natural there have been swarms that have crossed the Atlantic that have shown up in the most unusual places.  I call you My Kingdom Swarm and you shall invade the kingdoms of the earth and you shall extract that which is needed and you will bring it into My Kingdom says the Lord.

And that which the enemy meant to destroy through trafficking I will raise them up as an unstoppable army in the days ahead for that generation will be My Generation says the Lord!

So I say shout that the kingdoms of this earth are becoming My Kingdoms saith the Lord. And decree that the prisoners will be let go and they will come back to My House and this is a season My Altar will be filled!

A new baptism I’ll give you and I say to you My very Finger I will place in My People’s keeping.  And I say when you point your finger demons will flee!

And I say I’m going to open your eyes to those around you and you’re going to say they’re of a different kingdom. And I will say to you they are Mine bring them in now!

And in this year of honey I will cause a new hunger to arise throughout the lands for My Word saith the Lord.  And where you have known My Word in the past you will taste and see My Word in a different way!

Did 2013’s Prophetic Words Ring True?.

man going home

In the days and weeks ahead, prophetic voices around the world will release prophecies for 2014. You’ll read a handful of them on the “Prophetic Insight” section of

But before we charge ahead to weigh prophetic mandates, directives and warnings for 2014, let’s take a minute to look back at the prophetic words declared over 2013. After all, you can’t always limit God’s words to a 12-month timeline. Indeed, it’s possible that some 2013 prophecies won’t be relevant for years and others will remain relevant for years to come. So, again, before we move on to the next new word, let’s review what the Lord said last year and respond according to His Spirit.

The Spiritual Avalanche That Could Kill Millions

About this time last year, evangelist Steve Hill had a vision. He saw a massive, majestic mountain covered in glistening snow. It turned out to be an avalanche of heretical teachings, including universal reconciliation, the deification of man, a challenge against the validity of the Word of God including His judgments, and even the lifting of any boundaries, claiming His amazing grace is actually amazing freedom. We’ve certainly seen a rise in heretical teachings in 2013. But I believe the avalanche has yet to completely fall. Have you girded the loins of your mind for the onslaught in the years ahead?

Sandie Freed, founder and director of the School of the Prophets and Apostolic Training Center in Bedford, Texas, declared freedom from Satan’s false accusations in 2013. She charged us to “step into 2013 with an understanding of who God is and with the revelation that He is not a God that lies.” This was less of a prophetic word and more of an apostolic decree. Did you heed the call?

‘My Hand Is Moving Across Your Nation in a Miraculous Way’

Eileen Fisher, author of Embracing the Prophetic, released a prophetic word declaring, “My hand is moving across your nation in a miraculous way.” The conclusion of the prophecy proclaimed, “You will hear a miraculous report of the Lord. You will dance in the streets and you will sing and you will declare, ‘All is well!’ I will say until you, sing it in faith, sing it when you are alone, declare it, decree it, and so it shall be: All shall be well because the well of salvation is going to be poured out fresh over your nation. I am causing places that have been dry to open up to My reign. I will come down and you will hear, ‘Let us go to the sanctuary of the Lord our God and be dipped in the well of our own salvation,’ says the Lord your God.” Did you experience this in your life, family or church?

Return to Antioch

The Lord told Jennifer LeClaire (that’s me) to issue a prophetic directive. It came to my spirit in three words: “Return to Antioch.” In my article, I wrote, “We need to ‘return to Antioch.’ We need to return to sound doctrine that strengthens the spirits and souls of the disciples, encourages them to contend for the true faith, and refuses to sugar coat the Christian walk. We need to ‘return to Antioch’ and leave behind the Hollywood Christianity, the pillow prophets, the prosper-me gospel and the other foolish practices that have crept into the 21st century church while we were sleeping. We need to ‘return to Antioch’ and walk with Christ no matter what it costs us. We need to be found faithful when the Lord returns.” I believe this is still true for 2014.

Cry Out for a Youth Awakening

Former Charisma editor J. Lee Grady believed God had redemption in mind for 2013. Lee says God told him, “Pray for a great awakening in the younger generation.” He offered three Spirit-led prayer points and concluded, “God wants to give America another chance. The prophet Jeremiah pronounced many words of judgment on wayward Israel, yet he prayed this: ‘Restore us to You, O Lord, that we may be restored; renew our days as of old’ (Lam. 5:21). God loves to answer that prayer! His desire is to restore—and He can orchestrate a great turnaround in our nation if we will humble ourselves and cry to Him with all our hearts.” Amen. I believe this prophetic word is still relevant today.

13 Prophecies for 2013

The most-shared 2013 prophecy article on Charisma magazine last year was revivalist Matt Sorger’s “13 Prophecies for 2013.” He shared a number of visions, from stagnant waters being stirred in a fresh way to a prophetic ear to comprehend to a new God-given language to communicate His truths clearly to blueprints for a new wineskin. Sorger encouraged us to pursue these things aggressively as invitations to lay hold of.

Stay tuned in the coming days and weeks as we’ll share more prophetic words. In the meantime, review these decrees, announcements, insights and directives. Grab what rings with your spirit even as you prepare your heart to receive what God has for you in the new year.

Was It God or the Devil? Discerning Satanic Hindrances.

Man with questions
We don’t want to resist God when we should be resisting the enemy. (

I’ll admit it. There have been times when I thought the devil was in my way and it was really the Holy Spirit preventing me. There were other times when I thought the Holy Spirit was opening the door and it was really the devil tapping into the idolatry in my own heart to set me up for a mess.

I’ve grown up quite a lot in Christ since then, but we are all prone to miss it from time to time. Understanding how the Holy Spirit leads and how the devil deceives can help you follow the steps the Lord has ordered for you instead of falling into the roaring lion’s trap.

We can take a lesson from the apostle Paul, who keenly observed the difference between his own plans, the Holy Spirit’s plans and the devil’s plans.

Paul’s Bright Idea

Paul was called to preach the gospel to the Gentiles, and he got about his Father’s business with as much zeal as he formerly displayed in persecuting the church. Paul traveled the world over in his day, but when he and his apostolic team went through certain cities to preach the Word, the Holy Spirit stopped him in favor of a more strategic mission. In Acts 16:6-10, Luke records:

“Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them. So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, ‘Come over to Macedonia and help us.’ Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.”

Paul concluded the Lord wanted him to preach the gospel in Macedonia only after the Holy Spirit twice prevented him from preaching in other cities, then gave him a vision that clearly laid out the next leg of his missionary journey. In other words, Paul had his plans, but the Holy Spirit had a different plan. Paul could have mistakenly blamed the devil for the obstacles to getting the gospel out in Phrygia and the region of Galatia and Bithynia, but he discerned it was the Holy Spirit—not the devil—preventing him from fulfilling his mission.

The story was altogether different in Paul’s endeavors to visit the church at Thessalonica. Paul writes, “Therefore we wanted to come to you—even I, Paul, time and again—but Satan hindered us” (1 Thess. 2:18). We don’t know exactly how Paul determined it was Satan hindering him rather than the Holy Spirit preventing him or what Satan may have done to hinder him. But Paul was certain the devil was to blame.

Discerning Satanic Hindrances

Sometimes it’s obvious the Holy Spirit is preventing you or that the devil is thwarting you. But sometimes it’s not so obvious. So how do you tell the difference?

1. Ask the Holy Spirit what is going on. First of all, we need to pray and ask the Lord what is going on. When in doubt, our best first move is to trust in the Lord and not our own understanding. Just because we’ve seen a pattern in how the Holy Ghost moves or how Satan works doesn’t mean we can automatically presume who’s behind something. That said, there are some discernible demonic hints. For example …

2. Did God already tell you to do it? If you are convinced the Holy Spirit expressly told you to do something and you are meeting with obstacles, it’s likely the enemy trying to prevent fruit for the kingdom. Satan constantly works to hinder God’s plan, even though he is already defeated.

3. What is the objective of the hindrance? Any hindrance that keeps you from getting closer to God is not from God. Satan will set up idols in our lives, hoping we’ll go after the promotion, the money, the entertainment, the fame or the something else. Of course, he uses our own flesh and soulish desires to distract us. You can’t really blame the devil.

4. What’s going through your mind? The Word says we should think on good things. If the hindrance you face is coming in the form of unpleasant thoughts and fearful imaginations, that’s not God speaking to you. That’s the devil’s way to get you into fear, doubt and unbelief.

Remember, we are not wrestling against flesh and blood—but we are wrestling. The key is to wrestle with the enemy and not with God. In other words, we don’t want to be resisting God when we should be resisting the enemy, and we don’t want to be cooperating with the enemy when we should be cooperating with God. The enemy is walking around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. God’s eyes roam to and fro over the earth in order to strengthen the ones whose hearts are fully committed to him (2 Chr. 16:9).

The bottom line? Do what Paul did: “Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass” (Ps. 37:5). No devil in hell can keep you from God’s will if you are sold out to His plan. Amen.

James Goll: Season of Turmoil, Upheaval and Contention Will Bring Change.

Open Door
This Hebrew New Year has been proclaimed the “Year of the Open Door.” (Abyla for

Many have proclaimed this New Hebrew Year, 5774, the “Year of the Open Door.” While I concur with that, I often look at things from an additional perspective that includes not only the revelation of the Holy Spirit but the ways of God. So, if it is the “Year of the Open Door,” then it is helpful to ask: “What are the requirements to go from one stage to the next?” We need to consider: “To go through an open door, do you have to close some old doors first?”

I personally believe we are in a season of turmoil, upheaval and contention—resulting in change. We are at a crossroads of change. This is true politically in the Middle East, in the United States and in many other nations.

There are issues—such as global economics, the very moral foundation of this generation, concerns of social justice, required change in the body of Christ, and all the ramifications these bring into our personal lives and families. We truly need grace for this transition!

So, let’s go on a journey together and see if we find some principles that will help us go from “promise revealed” to “promise fulfilled.”

From Narrow to Transition to Enlargement

We are in a process of change. The government of the church is changing. Our authority level is changing. Our gifts are being drawn out of us in stretching dimensions. We have been and are going through places of testing and confinement in the body called a “narrow place.”

What is this narrow place? This is a place less wide than we are accustomed to or have expected to be in. If we respond properly to the narrow or confined place, we will enter into the phase of transition to be brought into a larger place in the Spirit.

The new place is like the camel going through the eye of the needle. One school of thought is that it was a narrow gate. The only way a camel could get through it was to be unloaded. This is the needle—the narrow gate. This is a place of unloading the weights of the past and a place of fresh commitment to the cross, where we die to self all over again. The “narrow place” can lead us out of captivity into a new and open field.

How Can We Make the Transition?

Transition means “to pass from one condition into another.” Transition times are when the Lord redefines and makes adjustments necessary for us to move forward. He gives us new focus and direction. He teaches us about Himself in a new way.

A transition, in a literary sense, is the phrase that connects the past communication or paragraph with the future thought. We must seek the Lord for revelation and the ways of God in times of change. His revelatory perspective bridges the past season with the new one. Without clear revelation and communication during transition, we can lose the strength and wisdom of our past victory. But we desperately need His strength to go from glory to glory.

At the time of birth, transition is the most difficult time. This is the time when the woman feels she cannot go any further. Only the vision of the child to come causes the endurance and perseverance toward the ultimate goal of a lineage and legacy being secured.

It isn’t the new thing coming that is so hard to deal with; it’s the transition from the old state of affairs to the new one. How we respond during the time of transition before the new birth makes all the difference.

As you travail in this season, ask the Lord to give you strategy to protect your vision. Remember, the dragon attempts to steal new birth (Rev. 12:4). Press forward! Cry out for greater grace to be granted to you to keep moving forward.

When these changes manifest, enlargement occurs. To enlarge is to expand, to set free, to become greater in size and intensity. Enlargement—or going through the new open door—is a process, not just a proclamation. Press through the narrow, withstand the transition, and receive enlargement.

The Process of Change

Here are few thoughts on the process of change:

1. A new level of revelation is released.
2. Your present vision starts to be adjusted.
3. New vision is secured and established.
4. A mantle of restoration is placed upon you.
5. You go through the healing process concerning things of the past.
6. A new identity is developed within you.
7. Fresh strategies are revealed to you.
8. You see a greater fullness of your inheritance before you.
9. You have the strength to overthrow your enemies.
10. You secure your new inheritance.

Observing from my own prayer posture in life and ministry experience, if you are experiencing a narrow place of confinement or you sense you are in transition, be assured. He is about to visit you with a fresh demonstration of His Spirit! May your resources increase and your trials become stepping stones to renewed power and revelation.

And know this: When you have come through the “new door,” there are others who have been watching your pilgrimage. When you are strengthened, you will be enlarged to strengthen others in Jesus’ name!
