Sen. John McCain said “extremists” were behind his censure by the Arizona Republican Party but that it just encourages him to seek re-election.

McCain’s accusers say he is too tight with liberal Democrats and their positions,Breitbart News reported.  McCain said it’s all about his support for Obamacare.

“It’s regrettable, but I think it’s a case where a lot of extremists have taken over the Republican Party and one of their complaints about me was that I support Obamacare. That’s unethical to say that,” McCain told the site.

McCain said the state GOP reprimand “fires me up” as he weighs whether to run for re-election in 2016, when he would be 80 years old.

“We’ve got polling data that shows overwhelming support. I’ve won every election in Arizona by very large margins, quite often with the opposition of [the right flank] of the party,” Politico reported.

The state GOP said McCain, an Arizona Republican, has a “long and terrible record of drafting, co-sponsoring, and voting for legislation best associated with liberal Democrats, such as amnesty, funding for Obamacare, the debt ceiling, liberal nominees, assaults on the Constitution and Second Amendment,” the resolution read.

McCain responded that he had “led the fight for 25 days on the floor of the Senate” against Obamacare.

He opposed the conservative strategy of closing down the government in October 2013 rather than allowing any spending bill that funds the Affordable Care Act to pass.

He said that Republicans would be blamed for any shutdown and warned: “I know how the movie ends: We don’t defund Obamacare until we have 67 Republicans in the United States Senate,” Politico reported.

Meanwhile, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, McCain’s vice presidential running mate, came to his defense in a Monday Facebook posting: “I consider Senator John McCain an American hero and a friend. He fights to remind our president that the federal government’s first priority must be strong defense of our homeland, and … he fights against big-spending colleagues who don’t prioritize for our military’s needs,” The Washington Post reported.

Palin said that while they did not agree on all the issues, including immigration reform and the debt, Palin said she found it “perplexing” that McCain’s efforts to block the Obama agenda had been ignored and possibly undermined by his opponents to the right in Arizona.

Seniors Group Leader Vows to Kill ‘Death Tax’.

Jim Martin, founder and chairman of the 60 Plus Senior Association, vows that his 7.1 million-member group’s efforts to repeal the estate tax will play a huge role in the 2014 elections.

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax, the man who put the phrase “death tax” on the political map to describe the estate tax predicted a big Republican capture of the Senate because of what he called a “tsunami of senior power reaching gale force this November.”

Virtually every Republican competing for a Senate seat this year supports repealing the estate tax. In 2006, the repeal effort came within three votes of overcoming a Senate filibuster.

Martin also pointed out that there is a growing sentiment among Democrats in and out of Congress to repeal the tax.

“The repeal bill in 2006 passed the House by a vote of 272 to 162,” Martin said, adding that “42 Democrats were on the repeal side and [Georgia Democratic Rep.] Sanford Bishop became the first member of the Congressional Black Caucus to vote to kill the death tax. I suspect his vote had a lot to do with the number of family farms in Georgia that were hit hard by the tax that forced family members to scramble and borrow to pay it.”

Currently, the “death tax” is a 40 percent levy applied to estates over $5.34 million and is indexed for inflation.

Martin cited Frank Blethen, publisher and chief executive officer of the venerable Seattle Times, as one prominent Democrat in the “kill-the-death-tax” camp. Hailed by the left-wing Daily Kos as “the new Citizen Kane,” fourth-generation newsman Blethen runs a newspaper that has been in his family since his great-grandfather Alden bought it in 1896.

“Frank is a liberal Democrat who backed Bill Bradley for president [in the 2000 Democratic primaries] over Al Gore because Gore wasn’t liberal enough,” Martin said with a chuckle.

“I’m a conservative Republican, so we don’t get into talking politics. But the only thing we have in common is something critical: Frank is a vigorous supporter of death tax repeal,” Martin said. “I think practical experience has something to do with it. He’s just seen too many family-owned newspapers like his go under because the families couldn’t pay the tax on the estate of a deceased owner.”

Other major repeal players hailed by Martin include Grover Norquist, head of Americans for Tax Reform — “who never met a tax he doesn’t want to drown in his bathtub,” Martin mused — and Alabama tax attorney Harold Apolinsky, who Martin affectionately calls “the Godfather of repeal.”

“Harold and I have testified before Congress on the harmful effects of this anti-family, anti-small business tax,” Martin said.

The next repeal measure — which is sponsored by South Dakota Sen. John Thune and Texas Rep. Kevin Brady, both Republicans — will have more Democratic support than ever, Martin predicted. But he also noted that nearly all the Democrats running for Senate seats this year oppose repeal.

“That will give Republicans — nearly all of whom are on the repeal side — control of the Senate,” said Martin, who in August of 2009 became one of the first conservatives to forecast the wave in 2010 that gave the GOP its largest majority in the House since 1938.

Martin, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, spelled out the “battlefields” where he and 60 Plus national spokesman and legendary singer Pat Boone plan to energize their members into action.

Three states where Democratic senators are retiring are what Martin called “lead-pipe cinches” for pickup by Republicans candidates. He also said Republican challengers are better than even money to defeat Democratic senators and repeal opponents in Alaska, Arkansas, Louisiana, and North Carolina.

“Mark my words: [Louisiana Sen.] Mary Landrieu is finished,” Martin vowed. “She has won three terms by very tight margins. This year, we’re going all-out to show Louisiana’s senior citizens how she has consistently opposed death tax repeal — and that will make the difference for her opponent.”

The 60 Plus chief went even further than many Republican-leaning pundits and forecast a Republican pickup of the seat of retiring Michigan Democratic Sen. Carl Levin and defeats for Democratic Sens. Mark Udall of Colorado, Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, and Al Franken of Minnesota.

“The senior vote went heavily Republican in 2010 and went for Mitt Romney by 20 percentage points nationwide in 2012,” said Martin. “If other voters who favored Romney turned out for him in the numbers seniors did, we’d be discussing ‘President Romney’ and how he was eager to sign death tax repeal.”

Since he picked up what he calls “my megaphone” and started building 60 Plus nearly two decades ago, Martin has been credited with popularizing the phrase “death tax” to describe the estate tax. In his book “Wealth and Our Commonwealth: Why America Should Tax Accumulated Fortunes,” Bill Gates Sr., father of Microsoft’s co-founder, cites Martin for reviving the phrase.

“Truth be told, President Reagan coined the term many years ago,” Martin told Newsmax. “But I take pride in having hammered it home. A tax ought to have a socially redeeming value. The estate tax has none. Instead it tears away at family businesses and stymies wealth creation and jobs. If Bill Gates Sr., George Soros, and Warren Buffet want to keep the death tax, fine. Make it voluntary and let them pay. But don’t preach to others about how they should be happy to pay. The estate tax needs to die.”

Scott Walker: Primary Challenges Could Cripple GOP Bid to Take Senate.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who is considered a potential GOP candidate for president in 2016, said Republicans need to concentrate on defeating Democrats and capturing the Senate in 2014, not attacking fellow Republicans.

Walker made his remarks during a Saturday radio appearance on the The Mike Huckabee Show.

In introducing Walker, Huckabee lauded him as a conservative who doesn’t “tear down” other Republicans.

Walker noted that his new book “Unintimidated: A Governor’s Story and A Nation’s Challenge” acknowledges Americans’ widespread frustration with the size and expansiveness of the federal government.

He said Republicans were able to implement “big bold reforms” in several Midwestern states including Wisconsin because they won governorships as well as legislatures enabling them to put a GOP “team in place.”

The situation in Washington was vastly different despite the efforts of Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., to push “true reform.” That’s because the Senate is controlled by the Democrats “and we still, unfortunately, for the next few years have a Democrat president,” the Wisconsin governor said.

Republican energies should be targeted, said Walker, “not on fighting Republicans” in House or Senate primaries but on overcoming Democrats in states like Arkansas, Louisiana, North Carolina and Alaska.

This year’s November elections offer a real chance to win the Senate and determine the future of the country, he told Huckabee’s audience.

“We need to elect Republicans to those spots,” said Walker.

None of the Republicans’ achievements at the state level— Michigan’s right to work laws, for example— could have been accomplished had Republicans not pulled together and won both the governorship and the legislature.

“We were able to put a team into place” because of the support of the Republican establishment, grass roots activists and the tea party, who were united on the objective of putting “power back in the hands of the people.”

Without Republican unity “we would have had tremendous difficulties if not an outright barrier to that kind of reform,” said Walker.

“The real answer is to not to go out and attack Republicans who try to push reform in the House or to try to defeat them in primaries. It’s to go out and win those winnable elections for the United States Senate,” he said.

“Then, after that, if a year from now, Republicans hold the United States Senate and they hold the House, if at that point we can’t get things done, then I think its legitimate to hold people in our own party accountable,” Walker said.

Walker said 2014 is “that all-important year. We get the Senate back. Then, two years later, we elect a Republican president. And it’s not just about winning elections at that point, it’s about truly reforming the federal government, reining in the debt, reining in the deficit.”

With Republicans in-charge on Capitol Hill and at the White House, “putting the power back in the hands of the American people” is “something we can do.”

But, only, said Walker, if Republicans don’t meanwhile “splinter off” in “many different directions.”

Chuck Pierce: See the Unlocking and Shaking in the Next Three Years.

Chuck Pierce

Hear the clock ticking, for the Lord says I have now catapulted you into the three years ahead.  And this day the dearest of My Months I say to You I am moving you against gates that have never been moved before.  And I am causing those gates that have withstood you in the past to have to come loose so they open in days ahead!  I say to you move strategically day by day and month by month until the gate that has held back yourblessing opens up.

For I say in the 3rd year the War of the Kingdoms will begin and kingdom will rise against kingdom.  But I say I have a Kingdom now I’m preparing and I will remember this Kingdom and the seed and the seed’s seed of this Kingdom.  So I say to you know this I have a Kingdom that will triumph.

For I am beginning a highway out of Egypt but I’ll redo the highway that you’re on.  And I say now, the demons that have been trafficking and even creating trafficking throughout the earth, I Am going to unnest their headquarters.

And I’ll surprise you with the leaders of this Nation, for I have ways to cause them to bow their knees, and you think they’re going one way but you watch Me knock the feet out from under them.  And you watch them see Me in a way they’ve never seen Me before!

You’ll hear of shakings from North to West!  You’ll hear that I have come from Alaska to Maine to shake but it will be the center of this Nation that I now shake saith the Lord.  And I will cause that which has been hidden and controlling the forces of this land to shake down!

For I say to you make favor with those that even have come into places and you say, but they have evil character. I can cause every Pharaoh in this land and the lands that you’re a part of to favor you in days ahead!

And even today I call you My Army that is unstoppable. But even as in the natural there have been swarms that have crossed the Atlantic that have shown up in the most unusual places.  I call you My Kingdom Swarm and you shall invade the kingdoms of the earth and you shall extract that which is needed and you will bring it into My Kingdom says the Lord.

And that which the enemy meant to destroy through trafficking I will raise them up as an unstoppable army in the days ahead for that generation will be My Generation says the Lord!

So I say shout that the kingdoms of this earth are becoming My Kingdoms saith the Lord. And decree that the prisoners will be let go and they will come back to My House and this is a season My Altar will be filled!

A new baptism I’ll give you and I say to you My very Finger I will place in My People’s keeping.  And I say when you point your finger demons will flee!

And I say I’m going to open your eyes to those around you and you’re going to say they’re of a different kingdom. And I will say to you they are Mine bring them in now!

And in this year of honey I will cause a new hunger to arise throughout the lands for My Word saith the Lord.  And where you have known My Word in the past you will taste and see My Word in a different way!

‘Duck Dynasty’ Family ‘Excited’ Over Robertson Reinstatement.

Phil Robertson’s “Duck Dynasty” family is excited to return to work next spring and resume filming its hit show with its patriarch back on the job.

The family is “excited to keep making a quality TV show for our dedicated fans, who have showed us wonderful support. We will continue to represent our faith and values in the most positive way through ‘Duck Dynasty’ and our many projects that we are currently working on,” it said in an exclusive statement to FoxNews.com.

Friday night, A&E announced it would bring Robertson back onto the show, reversing its decision to suspend him after making comments in a GQ Magazine interview about homosexuality.

Robertson’s hiatus brought outrage from many conservatives, who said the network was curbing his rights to freedom of speech and religion. Political figures such as former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal also spoke out against A&E’s decision.

“The outpouring of support and prayer has encouraged and emboldened us greatly,” the 67-year-old family patriarch’s family said in its statement to Fox.

ObamaCareYou Can Win With The Facts

The reality show’s fifth season was to have started on Jan. 15, but the family had said it could not fathom continuing the program without Robertson at the helm.

A&E, while announcing it would allow Robertson on the show, noted that his comments in the GQ interview reflect his own beliefs and personal journey.

“He and his family have publicly stated they regret the ‘coarse language’ he used and the misinterpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would ‘never incite or encourage hate,'” A&E said in its statement.

Further, the network noted that its top-rated show is not only about Phil Robertson, but “resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family, a family that America has come to love” that often comes “together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance, and forgiveness.”

“Duck Dynasty” is cable television’s top-rated show, averaging 13.4 million viewers and presiding over a marketing franchise involving Wal-Mart, Sears, and Cracker Barrel restaurants.

While Cracker Barrel pulled the merchandise for a few days, Wal-Mart kept it on the shelf, selling out  many of the T-shirts, hats, and other paraphernalia in the last shopping days before Christmas.

The Robertson family has a merchandise empire worth $400 million, according to Forbes, with sales in Wal-Mart acounting for about half of that amount.

Palin: Accepts Bashir’s Apology, Will ‘Move On’.

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said her role is to accept the apology of MSNBC commentator Martin Bashir, and move on after his crude verbal on-air attack.

“My role is to accept his apology, and be humble enough to accept it, and move on,” Palin told “Fox & Friends” Thursday, in her first public response after MSNBC announced Bashir’s resignation Wednesday.

Story continues below video.

The network originally suspended Bashir after comments he made Nov. 15 calling Palin a “world class idiot.” He also made a reference to disgusting punishment given slaves, suggesting Palin should receive the same treatment. Bashir issued an apology a few days after making the remarks.

Palin, who was also the Republican 2008 vice presidential candidate, said she hopes attacks such as Bashir’s don’t “make people hesitate” from taking a chance and getting involved.

“I just hope that unprovoked attacks like that don’t result in people being hesitant to jump in the arena, anyway — to get out there and serve the public or start a business or really commit themselves to changing within their family, their community, their world, doing whatever that they can,” Palin said.

The positive side of the issue was the media response calling for an emphasis on higher standards, Palin said.

“It was refreshing to see, though, that many in the media did come out and say, ‘Look, our standards have got to be higher than this. Those with that platform, with a microphone, a camera in their face, they have to have some more responsibility taken,'” she said.

From years in the public spotlight, Palin said she was “used to it,” but that verbal attacks represented “a sad state of affairs.”

“Now, I look at it as kind of par for the course,” she said.

Politico: MSNBC’s Martin Bashir Suspended for Palin Remarks.

Image: Politico: MSNBC's Martin Bashir Suspended for Palin Remarks

By Greg Richter

Television commentator Martin Bashir has been suspended for remarks he made about former Alaska Gov. Sarah PalinPolitico reports

But MSNBC, the cable news channel that airs Bashir’s self-titled program, says he is “on vacation.”

Bashir was off last week during Thanksgiving, but did not return to the air Monday. Guest host Joy Reid sat in for him.

Politico’s Dylan Byers reported that network sources had told him Bashir was under temporary suspension after making crude remarks about Palin on his show Nov. 15. After a weekend of criticism, Bashir led his Nov. 18 show with an apology.

Palin accepted the apology, but conservatives demanded some form of punishment for Bashir, especially after the cable channel handed down a two-week suspension to host Alec Baldwin for making a gay slur to a photographer who approached his wife and baby.

Baldwin joined that call, saying his own remarks were made off-the-cuff and not on the air, while Bashir’s were scripted and delivered during his program.

Baldwin’s show has since been canceled. He denies using a gay slur.

MSNBC spokeswoman Lauren Skowronski would not confirm to Politico Bashir’s suspension, saying in an email, “He’s still out on vacation.” She did not respond to a question about when Bashir would return.

Bashir’s original remarks were a response to Palin’s comparing the United States’ debt to China to slavery. He called her a “world-class idiot” before describing the inhumane treatment a certain slave owner had used and suggesting Palin be given a dose of the same treatment.
