The Father’s Heart for Israel and the Church in the Last Days.

Jewish Awakening
In these last days, God will show His heart for both the church and Israel.

Nowhere is the relationship between G-d’s family, as Jews and Gentile believers, more clearly seen in Scripture than in the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). For a moment, let us reflect upon it, with G-d being the father and the two sons being Jew and Gentile, in order to help us see the changes that we need to make in these times.

Sometimes, when looking at this story, it is hard for us in the church to see ourselves as the older brother, because Israel is the one who came first. However, except for the apostles and many of the first Jewish believers who helped to establish the church in the first century, the rest of the Jewish people have still to come into the New Covenant. This is one of the reasons Jesus said, So the last will be first, and the first will be last” (Matt. 20:16).

We must be clear here to hold onto G-d’s Word, as salvation only comes through faith in Yeshua (Rom. 11:23). That means apart from the Jewish remnant, Israel is still to experience redemption through Messiah alone. As a result, what was once completely Jewish before the New Covenant was given has been handed over to Gentile believers, who now run and operate our Father’s house. So when we read the story of the prodigal son, we can understand how the faithful brother feels. He thought he was being obedient, he did everything he was supposed to do, and part of him was probably happy because he knew he would end up in control. After all, it was his inheritance, and he had worked for it for years.

Now faced with his brother’s return, he does not respond like his father, who is full of compassion and mercy, but rather with anger, hostility and jealousy. How dare he even think about returning here! he thinks to himself. His brother, who went his own way, who squandered everything he had and then realized the error of his ways, being truly humbled by life, returned home in the hope he could become one of his father’s servants.

On the other hand, the father’s response is completely different from that of the elder brother. After all, he was a loving father who stood in the gap for his lost son. He was faithful to love him, despite his rejection. He was grieved and heartbroken that his son walked away from him in the first place, and he never stopped feeling the pain of this separation—he wept and he mourned. But he never lost hope while waiting patiently for his son to return, as he knew it was only a matter of time.

Charisma.png

Time as we know it seems endless, but the father said, “I will never give up. I will never surrender until my lost son is properly restored.” Then all of a sudden, an incredible thing happens and the fullness of joy sweeps over the father’s heart and the love of G-d consumes his soul like a river flowing at springtime. Suddenly, from his rocking chair on his front porch, he can see his lost son at a distance down the path leading up to the front of the house. He immediately knows and understands what has happened, except now his heart is filled with compassion as tears of joy are running down his face as he cries, “My son! My son! My son!”

Full of overwhelming excitement, he runs down the path to greet his son. When they meet, he throws his arms around him and hugs him like a bear, kissing him all over his faceHis son humbles himself and seeks his father’s forgiveness, even asking to become like one of his servants. Yet none of that seemed to matter now, because today, his son who was lost, his son who was dead has been found and is alive again. His son, whom he never stopped waiting for, whom he never stopped praying for, has returned. Immediately, and without question, the father restored him to his rightful place as an heir along with the obedient son.

The son’s loving father is filled with compassion, his heart filled with mercy and grace. He lovingly embraces him and immediately restores him to his place in his family—something the older brother cannot even fathom or understand, as he asks, “How could you do this to me?”

Yet we know our Father in heaven is full of mercy and grace, and His gospel is the same. He is able to wash away all of our sins, even as He has already done, so we could come into the kingdom in the first place, all as a result of His great love for us. Didn’t the veil of sin also blind us before His grace supernaturally lifted it from our souls?

Spoken Prophetically to Gentile Believers

The Father says to the Gentile believers: “For I have promised to restore Israel. I have given My word, I have covenanted with him in the same way I have covenanted with you. And all I have already belongs to you. I am willing to forgive him, the same way I am willing to forgive you. For just as he was unfaithful to Me by rejecting Me, so you have been unfaithful to Me by rejecting them.”

So who should we be like in the church? We should be like our Father in heaven. But in reality we are often not, instead having been like the elder brother in this story. It has been impossible for the church to love the Jews in our own humanity without the supernatural love of G-d. Yet they are elected as a result of the patriarchs (Rom. 11:28), which has been a dichotomy for the church.

But because our Father loves Israel and has chosen them, just like He has chosen His other children, He is able to look on them with compassion. Even in their disobedience and resistance, and even in their blindness and deafness, He still loves them because they are His children. And His Word and covenants must be accomplished through them because of His own integrity as a holy and righteous G-d. Look how they have suffered as a result.

And remember, by the time he came home, the prodigal son had truly learned his lesson. It is only in the Father’s love that we could even come close to moving in this. However, this is exactly what it will take to get this job done and nothing else short of it will work. So what are we to do? And how should we act to move in this direction, if we believe it to be G-d’s Word and call for us?

Search Your Heart

First, we need to be honest with our own hearts and to the Holy Spirit, as well as become honest with the prior actions of our families in past generations that may have affected us without our knowing. Have we felt like the brother in the prodigal story feels toward Israel and the Jews? Have we lacked G-d’s mercy toward them? Have we been anti-Semitic toward them? Have we been indifferent or cold, or are we jealous of them? Does the thought of their restoration make us angry or even insecure?

You may be a lover and supporter of Israel, but you know that something is still not right. You may understand Israel in your mind because of the Word of G-d, but your heart still needs to be cleansed because of the past. We also need to come to terms with how the church has sinned against our Jewish brethren from the past. Ultimately, Israel needs to come to terms with its past as well. As already mentioned, cleansing is needed all around (both Jew and Gentile), but it must start with us first! Does not judgment begin in the house?

The moment we confess, the moment we renounce, the moment we repent, G-d is more than able to purify us so that we can receive His heart. I truly believe that the Holy Spirit is waiting eagerly for us to get this right and allow His cleansing healing touch to wash away any past influences. This is so that His unconditional love can pour through us, that He would open our spirits as well as our minds to move into the fullness of His direction and plans in these last days. It would be to fulfill the unique role He has given to us as His other sheep in His spiritual family, to help breathe spiritual life back into them through prayer and intercession. And this is all in order that Israel may fulfill its own unique role in the earth to glorify G-d in fulfilling His Word so that the kingdom can come. For in our Father’s end time sovereign plan we are intricately linked and must begin to see ourselves as such, so the end may actually come.

Receiving the Father’s Heart

As already discussed, it is simply not possible to fully love the Jewish people in our own strength in light of their continued rejection of Jesus. Without a doubt, G-d’s supernatural love is needed to flow through us for this to happen. I call this the Father’s heart, and our receiving it is one of the main reasons for me writing The Ezekiel Generation. I believe His heart for His spiritual family will truly change us and give us what we need to help Him achieve His plans through us in order to redeem Israel and restore His kingdom.

I also believe this calling of the end-time generations of the church have a unique and distinct role to play to assist G-d to rebirth Israel spiritually, which is why we must not be ignorant about this mystery. We have a major part to play in it, which, up to this point, we have not seen too clearly, with corrections needed in our theology, because the ancestral acts of our lineage, most of which has not even been repented of, have blinded us to G-d’s end-time plan. In good conscience how could G-d give the church the fullness of His end-time plans theologically regarding Israel and the church, when our ancestry who was called to love them despite their rejection, fell for some despicable plans of the enemy to help persecute and destroy them. Don’t we need to fully break off the past first, so we can get it right?

And, as discussed in previous articles, while we may actually love Israel, the bloodline still needs to be cleaned to rid it of any current influence the enemy may still have over us. So breaking of Generational anti-Semitism and receiving G-d’s heart are vital to our spiritual health and well being concerning Israel and the church and the last days, and it is time for us to address these areas and reconnect as a spiritual family as Jew and Gentile, to help be the catalyst in G-d end time mercy plan to redeem his first born son and our first born brother, so our L-rd can finally return and take dominion of the earth. That is what is at stake here! What an honor G-d is actually bestowing on His end-time church, to help give life back to Israel spiritually (Ezek. 37:9-11).

For all of the prayers to receive the Father’s heart to help you reconnect spiritually with Israel, please go to pages 146-154 in the Ezekiel Generation.

Israel, World Dignitaries, Honor Sharon at State Funeral.

Image: Israel, World Dignitaries, Honor Sharon at State FuneralTony Blair eulogizes Ariel Sharon during a state memorial service at the Knesset in Jerusalem on Jan. 13.

JERUSALEM — Israel said its last farewell to former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on Monday with a state ceremony outside the parliament building before his flag-draped coffin was taken on a cross-country procession to its final resting place at his family farm in the country’s south. With a high-powered crowd of VIPs and international dignitaries on hand, Sharon was eulogized as a fearless warrior and bold leader who devoted his life to protecting Israel’s security. Vice President Joe Biden and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair headed the long list of visitors.

In a heartfelt address, Biden talked about a decades-long friendship with Sharon, saying the death felt “like a death in the family.”

ObamaCare: You Can Win With The Facts
When the two discussed Israel’s security, Biden said understood how Sharon earned the nickname “The Bulldozer,” explaining how Sharon would pull out maps and repeatedly make the same points to drive them home.

“He was indomitable,” Biden said. “But like all historic leaders, all real leaders, he had a north star that guided him. A north star from which he never, in my observation, never deviated. His north star was the survival of the state of Israel and the Jewish people wherever they resided,” Biden said.

Sharon died on Saturday, eight years after a devastating stroke left him in a coma from which he never recovered. He was 85.

One of Israel’s greatest and most divisive figures, Sharon rose through the ranks of the military, moving into politics and overcoming scandal and controversy to become prime minister at the time of his stroke.

He spent most of his life battling Arab enemies and promoting Jewish settlement on war-won lands. But in a surprising about-face, he led a historic withdrawal from the Gaza Strip in 2005, uprooting all soldiers and settlers from the territory after a 38-year presence in a move he said was necessary to ensure Israel’s security.

His backers called him a war hero. His detractors, first and foremost the Palestinians, considered him a war criminal and held him responsible for years of bloodshed.

The speakers at Monday’s ceremony outside parliament largely glossed over the controversy, and instead focused on his leadership and personality.

“Arik was a man of the land,” President Shimon Peres, a longtime friend and sometimes rival, said in his eulogy. “He defended this land like a lion and he taught its children to swing a scythe. He was a military legend in his lifetime and then turned his gaze to the day Israel would dwell in safety, when our children would return to our borders and peace would grace the Promised Land.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who resigned from Sharon’s Cabinet to protest the Gaza withdrawal, said that he and Sharon didn’t always agree with each other. Nonetheless, he called Sharon “one of the big warriors” for the nation of Israel.

“Arik was a man of actions, pragmatic, and his pragmatism was rooted in deep emotion, deep emotion for the country and deep emotion for the Jewish people,” Netanyahu said.

Nearly 10 years on, the withdrawal from Gaza remains hotly debated in Israeli society. Supporters say Israel is better off not being bogged down in the crowded territory, which is now home to 1.7 million Palestinians.

Critics say the pullout has only brought more violence. Two years after the withdrawal, Hamas militants seized control of Gaza and stepped up rocket fire on Israel.

In a reminder of the precarious security situation, Palestinian militants on Monday fired two rockets from the Gaza Strip. Sharon’s ranch in southern Israel, where his body was being laid to rest, is within range of such projectiles, though but Monday’s missiles did not hit Israel. No injuries or damage were reported.

Biden praised Sharon’s determination in carrying out the Gaza pullout, which bitterly divided the nation.

“The political courage it took, whether you agreed with him or not, when he told 10,000 Israelis to leave their homes in Gaza, in order from his perspective to strengthen Israel … I can’t think of a more difficult and controversial decision he made. But he believed it and he did it. The security of his people was always Arik’s unwavering mission.”

Blair, who is now an international envoy to the Middle East, said Sharon’s “strategic objective” never changed. “The same iron determination he took to the field of war he took to the chamber of diplomacy. Bold. Unorthodox. Unyielding,” he said.

Sharon’s coffin lay in state at the Knesset’s outdoor plaza where Israelis from all walks of life paid respects throughout Sunday.

In addition to Biden and Blair, the prime minister of the Czech Republic, and foreign ministers of Australia and Germany were among those in attendance at Monday’s ceremony.

Even Egypt, the first Arab country to make peace with Israel, sent a low-level diplomat, its embassy said.

After the ceremony ended, the closed coffin, draped in a blue and white Israeli flag, was placed in a military vehicle and driven in a police-escorted convoy toward Sharon’s ranch in southern Israel.

Crowds stood along the roadside and on bridges, snapping pictures and getting a final glimpse of the coffin as the procession of vehicles left Jerusalem and snaked down the highway outside the city’s picturesque hills.

The convoy made a brief stop at Latrun, the site of a bloody battle where Sharon was wounded during Israel’s war of independence in 1948, for a brief military ceremony before continuing south. His coffin was lowered into the ground in a military funeral at the family farm in southern Israel.

At Sharon’s graveside, his son Gilad remembered his father for overcoming the odds, whether it was battling a Palestinian uprising after becoming prime minister in 2001 or clinging to life in his final days even after his kidneys had stopped functioning.

“Again and again you turned the impossible to reality. That’s how legends are made. That’s how an ethos of a nation is created,” he said.

Sharon’s life will be remembered for its three distinct stages: First, was his eventful and contentious time in uniform, including leading a deadly raid in the West Bank that killed 69 Arabs, as well as his heroics in the 1973 Mideast war.

Then came his years as a vociferous political operator who helped create Israel’s settlement movement and masterminded the divisive Lebanon invasion in 1982. He was branded as indirectly responsible for the massacre of hundreds of Palestinians at the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps outside Beirut when his troops allowed allied Lebanese militias into the camps. An uproar over the massacre cost him his job.

Yet ultimately he transformed himself into a prime minister and statesman, capped by the dramatic Gaza withdrawal. Sharon appeared to be cruising toward re-election when he suffered the second, devastating stroke in January 2006.

Count Your Blessings

A SPECIAL MESSAGE
From Mike Evans the founder of the Jerusalem Prayer Team

Dear Nnamdi,

This time of year, I reflect on God’s blessings on my life. I have so many. I am blessed and highly favored.

As a young child, I only had one friend–my dog. But my dad got very angry with my dog one day and shot him. I am so glad to have you as a friend, and more than a friend. We are partners in the vital cause of defending Israel and the Jewish People through prayer.

How blessed I am to have married my best friend, Carolyn. She was the first person to ever believe in me, and she still does. How blessed I am to have three beautiful daughters, Michelle, Shira, and Rachel, and a handsome son, Michael David. I am blessed to have nine grandchildren.

Regarding Michael, I had never told Carolyn that I wanted a son to love the way my father never loved me. I think she knew that in her spirit because, after three girls, she was determined to have a boy. She said God had revealed to her that she would have a boy. When my son was born, I looked at the nametag on his crib, and it said, “Michael David Evans II.” I was a bit confused because I had no middle name, and I wasn’t “Michael,” I was Mike. I asked, “Carolyn, how can he be Michael David II when I’m not Michael David I?”

She looked at me and laughed. “That’s your problem,” she said. Shortly afterward, I went before a judge in a courtroom filled with people. He asked, “Why do you want to change your name?” I answered, “I want to be named after my son, so when I grow up, I’ll be just like him.” My son is a mighty man of God and a pastor. I couldn’t possibly be more proud of him.

I’ve walked with my Savior for 54 years…since the day he appeared to me face-to-face at the age of 11. He said, “Son, I love you and have a great plan for your life.” He certainly did, and He still does. I’m so grateful that His great plan included you, my partner.

This year, Hanukkah actually starts before Thanksgiving.  The first night of Hanukkah begins at sundown on the 27th of November, and Thanksgiving is on the 28th.  The last time this happened was in 1888, before the date for Thanksgiving was changed to where we observe it now.  And it won’t happen again for 77,000 years!

During Hanukkah, I will be returning to Israel again as your Ambassador.  In addition to meeting with the leaders of Israel and working on the Righteous Gentile Heritage Center, we will be hosting a special Jerusalem Hanukkah party for Holocaust survivors.  I have also received an urgent request for us to increase our efforts to help and touch the lives of Holocaust survivors in great need.  This is an amazing open door God has set before us.

Would you celebrate Hanukkah with a prophetic Holy Spirit-led gift today? Jesus celebrated Hanukkah.  “And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.  And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch” (John 10:22-23).  Will you do the same right now?

Even as we host our Hanukkah party for Holocaust survivors and work to meet their ongoing needs, we cannot delay our work on the Righteous Gentile Heritage Center.  This vital witness of Christian love to the entire nation of Israel will only become a reality if we work and give today.  And remember that your gift today will be doubled through the matching gift offer.

Nazi Flag Flies Proudly over Arab Town South of Jerusalem.

Israeli motorists traveling south from Jerusalem near the town of Beit Ummar in the land administered by the Palestinian Authority were shocked this past weekend to see a massive Nazi flag flying near the roadway.  It is the second time in the past few months that this offensive expression of hatred toward the Jewish People has been displayed there.  The reason the Palestinians have such an affinity for the Nazis is that they share the same goal–the elimination of the Jewish People. And this is nothing new.

In a recent speech, my long-time friend Prime Minister Netanyahu pointed out the historic links between the Palestinian Arabs and the Nazis. He cited the evidence that Mufti Haj Amin Al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, was “one of the initiators of the Holocaust of the Jews of Europe.”  He further pointed out that the Mufti even toured the gas chambers at Auschwitz with the notorious Adolf Eichmann.

Hatred of the Jewish People runs deep, not only among the Palestinians, but around the world.  Anti-Semitic violent attacks continue to occur more and more frequently.  Threats to destroy the Jewish People continue to be made.  The enemies of Israel are not looking for new, smaller borders for the Jewish state–they want it to be completely destroyed.

There is a vital conflict taking place in the spirit realm behind what we see on the political, military, and economic stages of this struggle.  The forces of good and evil are locked in a titanic battle between light and darkness.  Our role in this struggle is twofold.  First, we must fight in the spirit realm through our prayers and intercessions to God for Israel.  Second, we must do everything we can to strengthen and encourage the Jewish People as they face such dire threats.  Your support of the Jerusalem Prayer Team is a vital part of this effort.

We must make the next payment of $450,000 on November 30. Thanks to the incredible generosity of a dear friend of this work and Israel, we have a matching gift challenge that will double the impact of your gift today. That means we must raise $225,000 in the next six weeks. So far 445 friends have given $34,115. That means we still need $190,885.

PM Netanyahu explains why what we are doing matters so much.

From Mike Evans the founder of the Jerusalem Prayer Team

Dear Nnamdi,

I have been a personal friend of Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu for more than 30 years.  I asked then-Prime Minister Menachem Begin to give him his first political job, launching his career.  I anointed him with oil and prophesied over him that, in the future, he would be Prime Minister and lead his nation during the most dangerous days Israel had ever seen.  Today, that prophecy is coming true.

These words from my long-time friend describe prophetically the importance of what we are doing with the Righteous Gentile Heritage Center–a prophetic first.  The Prime Minister said:

“I don’t believe that the Jewish State and Modern Zionism would have been possible without Christian Zionism. I think that the many Christian supporters of the rebirth of the Jewish State and the ingathering of the Jewish people in the 19th century made possible the rise of Jewish Zionism–modern Jewish Zionism. We always had the deeply ingrained desire to come back to our land and rebuild it. This is a prayer of the millennia of the Jewish people…and the many Christian friends that we had…created the practical foundation, the political foundation for the emergence of Zionism.”

We must tell the stories of Christian Zionist heroes to the entire nation of Israel, but we cannot do that without your help.

We must make the next payment of $450,000 on November 30. Thanks to the incredible generosity of a dear friend of this work and Israel, we have a matching gift challenge that will double the impact of your gift today.  That means we must raise $225,000 in the next six weeks.  So far 260 friends have given $20,845.  That means we still need $204,155.

They screamed ‘Christ killer’ as they burned my great-grandfather to death inside his synagogue.

A SPECIAL MESSAGE
From Mike Evans the founder of the Jerusalem Prayer Team

When I am asked why I am so passionate about sharing the true story of Christian love with the Jewish people, my answer is that I know first-hand from my own family’s experience how vital this message is.  I will never forget the pain in my mother’s voice when she told me the story of her grandfather being burned to death inside his own synagogue.  Professing Orthodox Christians nailed the doors shut and screamed, “Christ killers!” as those inside perished in the flames.

This is what my mother–and most Jewish people–think of when they think of Christians.  Corrie ten Boom said, “You can’t love Jesus without loving the Jewish people.” But that is a truth that most Jewish people have never heard.  The horrors of the past cannot be undone, but we can tell the rest of the story.  That is why we are building the Righteous Gentile Heritage Center.

This story can only be told with your help.  The budget for the 3rd floor is right at $1,000,000.  The first payment of $500,000 must be made by September 1st.  We have less than one month to raise the needed funds so that this great work can stay on schedule to open next fall and tell the story of true Christian love to the Jewish people for generations to come.  Your gift today will be matched dollar for dollar.  That means we need to raise $250,000.  So far 365 friends have given $32,540 which will be doubled.  That means we still need $217,460.

Do you want God’s blessing today?.

From Mike Evans the founder of the Jerusalem Prayer Team

Dear Nnamdi,

Every Christian should wholeheartedly support Israel and the Jewish people. There are many Biblical reasons for this support, but there is one that is highlighted in the pages of Scripture. The eternal promise of God is that those who are a blessing to the descendants of Abraham will be blessed by Him. Genesis 12:3 is not a conditional or limited promise; it is an everlasting promise that is still in effect today.

Because Isaac was the covenant child of Abraham and Sarah, the land was promised to him and his descendants rather than to Ishmael and his descendants. Because of that covenant, the blessing promised in Genesis 12:3 is especially meant for those who are a blessing to the Jewish people.

How can we bless the Jewish people? One of the most important ways in which we can be a blessing to them and secure God’s blessing on our lives and families is to support their God-given right to live in safety and security in the Promised Land of Israel and their eternal capital, the Holy City of Jerusalem. Many Christians today to do not acknowledge this Divine right. This unbiblical position and failure weakens their testimony, weakens the nation of Israel, weakens our nation and, in fact, places us in great jeopardy of God’s judgment.

The truth is that anyone who seeks the blessings of our Heavenly Father must make sure that this command is obeyed. This promise is not just for individuals. The same verse promises a blessing for “the families of the earth.” This is a generational and national promise as well as an individual one. There is nothing more important you can do for your children, your grandchildren, and your country than to secure the blessing for them by blessing Israel and the Jewish people.

And I am asking you to be a blessing today in a special way to God’s Chosen People with your gift to help us complete the Righteous Gentile Heritage Center.

We must raise the remaining half of the funds for the fourth floor and make the second payment of $411,500 by July 15th. It is critical that we keep on schedule; the grand opening is scheduled for September 2014, and the nation of Israel is already talking about this unprecedented witness of Christian love. Your gift today will be matched dollar for dollar, so we must raise $205,750. So far 770 loving friends have given $69,770 which will be doubled to $139,540. That means we still need $135,980.

With your gift of any amount, we will send you a copy of my booklet “How to Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.” This is a practical guide designed to encourage and strengthen your faith and focus your prayers for God’s Chosen People. It’s also a wonderful way to encourage a friend or loved one to join us in prayer.

When you send your gift of $40 or more, we will send you the booklet and a special Bible Promise Box. Filled with Scripture promises designed to build your faith and selected especially for our Jerusalem Prayer Team members, this is a resource you will use again and again in your personal prayer life.

If you are able to send a gift of $100 or more, we will send the booklet, the promise box and a lovely ornate mezuzah. Since ancient times, the Jewish people have placed these by the doors of their homes. This beautiful mezuzah is the same one that we put at the doors of the Jerusalem World Center when we dedicated it last fall.

Remember that your gift today will be doubled by the matching gift offer to do twice as much to help us reach this urgent goal.
