The evil killings of Boko Haram terrorists: in the name of one Nigeria?.

HISTORY has always had a way of repeating itself. But has humanity learnt from the enduring intricacies,

intrigues and social-cultural dynamics of history, worldwide?
As a creationist and believer in the Universal Creator, the Supreme Sovereign God, who whatever names your dialectical domain, insists upon, the lives of human beings are sacrosanct and sacred. But does the continual killings, very many gruesome and dehumanizing suggest so? In a very plain and simple language, the answer is capital NO, NO, NO! Are all these being condoned in the dispirited ‘spirit’ of one Nigeria?
Why has the government of the day seemingly appearing incapable of, protecting Nigerians and the borders of Nigeria? It is increasingly becoming much clearer that the belief and humane aspiration of late Major Gideon Orkar (Nigeria Army), of 1992 aborted coup was one of the very best dispensations that should have happened to Nigeria and its people. The Nigerian people are not being protected from the evil surges and scourges being meted out by the BOKO HARAM SECT on Nigerians. What’s more, my people, the Igbos are continually receiving the heaviest the blows (destructions of lives), due to our uncurbed flair to universally exist and live among our ‘fellow brothers and country men/women’.

What, we are currently witnessing with increased tempo and ferocious intensity is representative of such belief. From South-eastern to South-western Nigeria, the country has borders, but we’ve known that some percentage of the hoodlums, masking as radical religious insurgents and protectors, teachers and missionaries of Islam inflicting these heinous aberrations crossed from the borders, of all Northern states – those States that late Major Gideon Orkar, had conscionably, wanted cut off from the rest of the country, for peace and progress to return to Nigeria. Today, have we known better than 1992? Today, have we known better than 1967-1970? (DIM IKEMBA – CHUKWUEMEKA ODUMEGWU-OJUKWU, YOU LEAVE FORVER in my heart). Today, we have know why the Late Chukwuemeka Kaduna Nzeogwu and the rest of the young, intelligent and well educated officers (Majors Emma Ifeajuna –an Olympiad, Philip Alele, Adegboyega, Okafor and others etc) did what they did, in order to set the country free, from the colonial and oligarchic manipulations, feuds, evil polices and institutionalized dominances of blatant and some times, surreptitious machinations to ‘tame’ and ‘Islamize’ the southern part of Nigeria. Yes some good things happened by the presence of the Brits and others that followed and even before, but the singular act of amalgamation submerged us with more harm than the good, whether intended ort impromptu! The Igbos would have been better off, without the Brits action.

The Federal Government’s efforts to curb the atrocious killings, burning and maiming of our citizens must be stepped up. The Ministries of Interior and that of Defense must evolve an urgent, massive policy of wiping, not containing BOKO HARAM. Every man is borne with dual or even multiplicities of capabilities, including the right to self-defense and inflict harm on others around – a possible case of ‘hidden/floating insanity’ inherent in humanity. Enough of the killings of the Igbos, all around the country! I’m definitely not in favour of BOKO HARAM killings people of other tribes/nations, including theirs, but let them stop the killings of the IGBOS, like the Kano Luxury Bus Park detonated by a vegetable vendor using his wares as a disguise, and ended up killings so many Igbos travelling to different parts of the country, especially the East. Of course, the perpetrators were aware that that Motor Park belonged to the Igbos and made the choice in order to maximally destroy the lives of my innocent and hardworking people! We cannot afford it any longer. NDI-IGBO, ZONU ONWE UNU!

Make no mistake about it: As a creationist, humanist an human rights/environmental activist, I believe in the workability of a very huge, multi-ethinicized, but progressive and equitable country, such like China, India, The United States of America, Brazil and even Nigeria. But like I’ve stressed elsewhere, the recognition of the rights of the minorities for independence or adoptive of self-rule remain a fundamental and cardinal unalienable reality, no matter what part of the world, it’s obtainable! So those calling for my throat to be slashed, simply because, I resist the inordinate aspirations of a sect that threatens the continuity of Nigeria as a country should remind themselves of these hard facts!
Every generation has always been endowed with mouth-pieces, even when they are being submerged by the selfish overtures of the strong in the strong in the society or those that derive dark pleasure in killing others and burning down properties. The proverbial tortoise had always cherished bigger society, when it time to work, and verse versa in moments of eating. But for me, I’m believe in both the principles of hugeness at work and that of eating or sharing: Live and let live, but if any desires to cut my slash his throat, not mine; for frivolous sentiments driven by religious conquest, domination and blood-letting, then, I shall be the first to pre-empt such.

When the British colonial masters invaded what is now known as the country of Nigeria, in the late 18th century A.D, what was paramount in their modus operandi, was commerce and profit and gaining of territory, by peace, coercion and even battle/war, where necessary. Had they recognized that the Igbos (lately we know that they knew) are a branch or branches of Israel, they would have left us alone to thrive as the second Israel in West Africa (Eden) and by now, The Edenic (African) Continent would have been lighted up! But alas, the choice to amalgamate us with the rest of the country has been subjecting us to continuity of draw-backs, stagnations and even despair.

The nearly four thousand years of the Igbos existence in the current Igbo Land and other Igbo culture areas, however, ad engendered a huge country, yet again, without boundary! But one day, the Igbos, under whatever political appellation must have its own definable country, recognized by the whole world, just like our brothers in Israel proper, Haiti and other parts of the world (south India, East Africa, the Mid-Atlantic States/Islands, Brazil etc) where they are scattered, BOKO HARAM or not. May we take a minute or two and revisit the ageless affirmation by one of the greatest of truer leaders of the World, Former President (Dr.) Nelson Madiba Mandela, speaking in 1964 at the trial that saw him sentenced for 27 years: “I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons will live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It si an ideal for which I hope to live for and to see realized. But my lord, if it needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die for.”

The difference in my ideal and that of Madiba is, that I choose not to be killed by the uncircumcised barbarians, parading themselves as hackers of innocent peoples’ necks in the void and absence of true knowledge, espoused by the wisdom of God the Creator, as in Judaism and Judeo-Christian religions. Their fundamentalists’ naked display of religious bigotry and hate must be receiving the right publicity, until their evil ideals are withered! And I hope to be alive to see that change duly effected, one day. Like my brother, Emefiena Ezeani, aptly rendered it, in his Book, ‘IN BIAFRA AFRICA DIED, The Diplomatic Plot’, the light and rays, which the Biafran Country would have helped and engendered the true illumination of the Continent, got extinguished and aborted. For over four decades now, we are still groping with the utter savagery and dire destruction at the face of greatness!

Homosexual and Transgender Employment Bill Threatens Religious Liberty.

Peter Sprigg
Peter Sprigg

In November, the U.S. Senate passed a version of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), a bill that creates a special status for sexual orientation and gender identity in the workplace.

ENDA unjustly interferes with the liberty of employers in the free market to determine their own standards for employment, based on characteristics that (unlike race or sex) primarily involve voluntary conduct (the choice to engage in homosexual conduct or the choice to present one’s self as the opposite of one’s biological sex).

In addition to this underlying threat to the free market for employment, however, ENDA poses a specific threat to religious liberty as well. The theologically orthodox teaching of both the Christian and Jewish faiths has always been that, in keeping with the teachings of Scripture, sexual relations between persons of the same sex are contrary to the will of God.

While the vast majority of employers would not consider an employee’s sexual orientation relevant, many religious organizations motivated by and proclaiming those faiths will logically seek employees whose conduct is consistent with the moral standards they teach. Such employers include not only churches and synagogues, but also schools, parachurch ministries, religious charities and nonprofits, and even profit-making corporations that sell religious products.

Laws protecting sexual orientation and gender identity at the local and state levels usually contain at least something that passes for a religious exemption, but the scope of those exemptions varies.

In some cases, the exemption has been applied only to clergy but not to other church employees. In other cases, church employees may be exempt, but those at religious nonprofit organizations are not. Or religious nonprofits that primarily proclaim the gospel may be exempted, but those that engage in “secular” activities (such as feeding the poor or educating children) are not.

Even if all religious nonprofits could be exempted, such laws rarely, if ever, exempt profit-making corporations—even though a Christian bookstore or Bible publisher may see its mission as being just as religious as any nonprofit ministry. (Lawsuits over the HHS mandate in Obamacare have shown that profit-making corporations have legitimate concerns about federal mandates that would force them to compromise moral principles.)

Advocates of ENDA argue that its religious exemption is relatively broad. The 1964 Civil Rights Act law exempts religious organizations from the ban on employment discrimination based on religion. ENDA would exempt any organization that qualifies for that exemption from ENDA’s provisions as well.

The exemption in the 1964 act was based on the reasonable grounds that organizations motivated by their faith should be free to give preference in hiring to those who share that faith. There is largely a social consensus that such flexibility in hiring furthers the free exercise of religion already guaranteed by the Constitution.

However, advocates of ENDA are people who fundamentally believe it is never reasonable to make moral distinctions between homosexual relationships and heterosexual ones. This is not a point of consensus—it is precisely the point in dispute. Therefore, it is reasonable to doubt whether ENDA’s advocates—or enforcers—will be generous toward employers that decline to employ people who engage in homosexual conduct.

Even if the rights of all religious employers are fully protected, a threat to religious liberty would remain. This is because there is no exemption in the bill for religious employees. Under ENDA, anyone who expresses the personal moral conviction that homosexual conduct is wrong would be vulnerable (or make their employer vulnerable) to charges of creating a “hostile work environment” for homosexual co-workers. That person would be at risk of being disciplined or even dismissed.

This is no mere hypothetical—there have been numerous examples already. Allstate insurance fired attorney Matt Barber (now with Liberty University Law School) for online writings against the homosexual agenda done on his own time. Gallaudet University suspended administrator Angela McCaskill merely for signing a petition to allow a referendum in Maryland on the redefinition of marriage to include same-sex couples. Fox Sports Southwest recently fired Craig James as a college football commentator after only one appearance—for positions he took while running for the U.S. Senate a year and a half earlier. This is why I have contended that ENDA would drive Christians “into the closet” even as it brings homosexual and transgender individuals out.

Conservatives are sometimes accused of trying to legislate morality. In this case, however, it is ENDA that seeks to legislate morality at the federal level—but it is the morality (or immorality) of the sexual revolution, which directly contradicts the sexual ethics of the Judeo-Christian tradition. Any member of Congress seeking to protect religious liberty should reject ENDA.

Sexual Predator Harvey Milk Honored With US Postage Stamp.

Matt Barber
Matt Barber

Benjamin Franklin famously quipped, “In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.”

Franklin evidently failed to envisage today’s postmodern left. For the conservative, there exists at least one other certainty, and it is this: The degree to which “progressives” attack you corresponds precisely to the degree with which you challenge any among their assorted, distorted and sordid sacred cows.

What would you call a 33-year-old man who both had and axiomatically acted upon a deviant sexual appetite for underage, drug-addicted, runaway boys? (No, not Jerry Sandusky.)

What would you call a man of whom, as regards sexual preference, his own friend and biographer confessed, “Harvey always had a penchant for young waifs with substance abuse problems”?

In a recent interview with, I called this man “demonstrably, categorically an evil man based on his [statutory] rape of teenage boys.”

But you can call him Harvey Milk.

Harvey Milk’s only claim to fame is that he was the first openly homosexual candidate to be elected to public office (San Francisco city commissioner). His chief cause was to do away with the Judeo-Christian sexual ethic. In 1978 Milk was murdered over a non-related political dispute by fellow Democrat Dan White.

And a “progressive” martyr was born.

Merriam Webster defines “pederast” as “one who practices anal intercourse especially with a boy.” It defines “statutory rape” as “the crime of having sex with someone who is younger than an age that is specified by law.”

Harvey Milk was both a pederast and, by extension, a statutory rapist. After I publicly addressed this objective reality in the above-mentioned interview, the liberal blogosphere reacted in, shall we say, an informatively defensive manner.

A Huffington Post headline screamed: “Harvey Milk Was An ‘Evil Man’ Who Raped Teenage Boys, Unworthy of Postage Stamp: Matt Barber.”

The always-amusing Right Wing Watch blog breathlessly posted my comments with the header: “Barber: ‘Harvey Milk Was Demonstrably, Categorically an Evil Man.’”

And so on.

Here’s what’s especially telling about their reaction. Not one of the dozen-or-more publications that reported on my comments even challenged their veracity. Not one attempted to refute or deny that Harvey Milk was, in fact, a pederast and a sexual predator.

That’s because they can’t.

One of Milk’s victims was a 16-year-old runaway from Maryland named Jack Galen McKinley. As previously mentioned, Milk had a soft spot in his, um, heart for teenage runaways. Motivated by an apparent quid pro quo of prurience, Milk plucked McKinley from the street.

Randy Shilts was a San Francisco Chronicle reporter and close friend to Harvey Milk. Though Shilts died of AIDS in 1994, he remains, even today, one of the most beloved journalists in the “LGBT” community.

Shilts was also Harvey Milk’s biographer. In his glowing book “The Mayor of Castro Street,” he wrote of Milk’s “relationship” with the McKinley boy: ” … Sixteen-year-old McKinley was looking for some kind of father figure. … At 33, Milk was launching a new life, though he could hardly have imagined the unlikely direction toward which his new lover would pull him.”

In a sane world, of course, the only direction his “new lover” should have pulled him was toward San Quentin. But, alas, today’s America – a burgeoning relativist land of make-believe – is anything but sane.

Randy Thomasson, child advocate and founder of, is one of the nation’s foremost experts on Harvey Milk. Of the Shilts biography, Thomasson notes, “Explaining Milk’s many flings and affairs with teenagers and young men, Randy Shilts writes how Milk told one ‘lover’ why it was OK for him to also have multiple relationships simultaneously: ‘As homosexuals, we can’t depend on the heterosexual model. … We grow up with the heterosexual model, but we don’t have to follow it. We should be developing our own lifestyle. There’s no reason why you can’t love more than one person at a time.’”

Whereas McKinley, a disturbed runaway boy, desperately sought a “father figure” to provide empathy, compassion, wisdom and direction, he instead found Harvey Milk: a promiscuous sexual predator who found, in McKinley, an opportunity to satisfy a perverse lust for underage flesh.

Years later McKinley committed suicide.

Another teen who crossed paths with Harvey Milk was Christian convert and former homosexual Gerard Dols. In a 2008 radio interview with Concerned Women for America, Dols shared of how – as a physically disabled teen – the “very nice” Harvey Milk had encouraged him in 1977 to run away from his Minnesota home and come to San Francisco.

According to Dols, Milk told him, “Don’t tell your parents,” and later sent him a letter with instructions. Thankfully, the letter was intercepted by Dols’ parents who then filed a complaint with the Minnesota attorney general’s office.

The incident was evidently swept under the rug.

So what does a man like Harvey Milk get for his apparent crimes? While most sexual predators get time in prison and a dishonorable mention on the registry of sex offenders, Harvey Milk got his own California state holiday (“Harvey Milk Day”) and, more recently, his own commemorative postage stamp, awarded by the Obama administration’s USPS.

God bless America?

As troubling as the postage stamp may be, to me – the father of a soon-to-be-teenage boy – the specter of having a “Harvey Milk Day” forced upon millions of California children, parents and educators is even more troubling. Especially in light of Milk’s own sordid history with minors.

Even so, and quite obviously, not everyone agrees. Some have said that my reality-based assessment of Harvey Milk is “uncivil.” Our historical revisionist friends on the left tend to get a bit snooty when you publicly deconstruct one of their meticulously fabricated mythical martyrs.

I find that odd.

To me, even the mere notion of elevating, to hero status, a man who statutorily raped teenage boys, is what’s uncivil.

Stemming the Islamic Tsunami: America Can Learn from Israel’s Example.

The idea of Islamic Jihad has become a looming threat to Western civilzation.
The idea of Islamic Jihad has become a looming threat to Western civilzation. (Reuters file photo)

How many of you have heard of the terrorist organization, “Baptist Jihad”? Most likely you haven’t, and that’s because there is no religious justification provided for such an organization. Yet we have heard of Islamic Jihad (Islamic Holy War), Hamas, Fatah, Hezbollah, al-Qaeda, and assorted other Islamic terrorist organizations.

How do we explain this “flooding of the terrorist market” by the Muslim ideology? While both Judaism and Christianity consider “Love your neighbor as yourself” to be the highest precept in human relations to aspire to, the Muslim belief in the concept of “Jihad,” which, as expressed in the Koran, and carried out in practice through terrorism, means holy war against all non-Muslims, and specifically Jews and Christians, is widespread.

This what I call the first Islamic tsunami—the rampant spread of terrorism—designed to intimidate us and frighten us so we will be afraid to speak out when the second, more dangerous Islamic tsunami becomes evident to all—and that is the global Islamic effort to remove Western civilization from its Judeo-Christian roots and transform it into an Islamic civilization. This is being attempted primarily through demography, education, and legal steps.

The Muslim population is proportionately the fastest growing population in the Western world. Through birthrate and immigration, there are already numerous European cities with over 20 percent Muslim population, and growing Muslim populations in American cities, as well. Concurrent to this has been the spread of hundreds of Islamic charter schools throughout the United States, essentially public schools, paid for with taxpayer funds and supplemented with heavy funding from Islamic countries. They masquerade as schools of excellence in math and science, hiding their true Islamic agenda, clearly stated by the infamous Muslim Brotherhood—“an Islamic Jihadist process to destroy and eliminate the Western civilization from within.”

How can Americans (and Canadians, as well) combat this threat that is growing every day?

As an American-Israeli dual citizen, I’ve been struck by the cultural/demographic changes in Israel, which seem to be moving in the opposite direction of the United States, where traditional, religious education and family-centered life have been fading for years. There has been an upsurge in recent years of births in Israel, with the Jewish birthrate growing to over three births per family, rivaling the always-high Muslim birthrate. In the biblical heartland of Samaria, Judea, and Jerusalem, the Jewish birthrate now surpasses that of the Muslims. There is also a simultaneous Jewish movement towards tradition—what I call “getting biblically connected again”—a vital process that will certainly increase these demographic trends.

And guess what? Most of the mothers work, most of the fathers are deeply involved as parents, and the older children learn responsibility by helping out with the younger children. It’s a win-win-win situation that Americans can learn from. “Teach your children” is not just a biblical slogan, but is a central part of Jewish life in the biblical heartland of Israel.

When I speak in American churches, I not only speak of the Islamic threat to Israel and to the West and of my work in Israel on behalf of the terror victim children in Israel’s heartland, but I emphasize the need for young people in Western civilization to get biblically connected again, to get married young, to have large families, and to teach their children well as two active and involved parents. There is nothing more socially responsible, but also nothing more rewarding.

Many other steps can be taken to counter the Islamic demographic tsunami, including creative, selective immigration reform to prevent Islamic immigration, as well as the drafting of a constitutional amendment banning the oppressive Islamic Sharia in America. But nothing can be more effective or positive than learning from the social/educational example provided by Israel. Meeting this social and educational challenge to the American family, will effectively counter what is essentially an existential threat to Judeo-Christian civilization.

It can’t be ignored any longer, and yes, the ultimate future of a Western civilization, connected to its biblical roots, depends on it.

Whose Fault Is It?.

R. Loren Sandford
R. Loren Sandford

You may think me extreme or alarmist (and I’m not so thick-skinned that this won’t bother me), but I feel less free as an American today than I did before 2008, and this both frightens and grieves me. What troubles me even more, however, is that I am convinced Americans will once more believe the false promises and lies they will be told in the next election cycle—and the one after—so that we will once again vote away another batch of our freedoms.

You don’t believe me when I say we are losing our freedoms? What little we’re consciously aware of may seem small and negligible—even a small price to pay for things like health care and domestic safety—but over time it adds up. Most of us don’t realize how much we’ve already lost. Lately I’ve been hearing firsthand stories I can’t share because they were told to me in confidence. Trust me when I say that ominous trends are underway.

Maybe all of this is just my prophetic nature that lets me feel the future coming. Maybe you’ll think I’m just wrong. But agree with me or not, this is a season for concentrated prayer. On that point I think we can all agree. At the very least, we in the body of Christ need more time to prepare for what must inevitably unfold. We desperately need an awakening and a turning toward holiness exercised in love and grace, and we need men and women of God in leadership both in and out of the church who will lead us there.

It would be a mistake to blame this on a sinister government. The root of the problem lies in the rapid disintegration of our culture of which our government is only a reflection. Historically, it seems to me that a culture can descend into lawlessness and evil very quickly but to develop a culture that conditions its people for the good takes a very long time. For example, although the seeds of evil were sown at the end of the First World War, Germany, an educated and civilized nation, moved from democracy to dictatorship and genocide in the space of just five to six years. Had the victorious allies shown mercy and not exacted reparations, it might have been a different story, but once evil took root, it didn’t take long to wreak havoc on the whole world.

We adopted slavery in the U.S. almost from the beginning of colonization. That evil institution established itself very quickly and began to warp the thinking of an entire people toward non-white races, blinding Americans to the application of the very principles of liberty and faith on which the nation was ultimately founded. Later, after decades of debate and conflict over abolition, we fought the Civil War, the bloodiest in our history, and freed the slaves—but then another hundred years passed before we could establish civil rights for the descendants of the slaves we freed. Wickedness took root very quickly and became a culture. It has taken a century and a half to begin to overcome the evil of the cultural attitudes slavery spawned and create a culture of equality and respect. And we have yet a long way to go! Evil comes as quickly as a momentary wrong decision—witness Eve in the Garden of Eden—but establishing the good takes time.

Western culture, especially in America, has deteriorated very quickly on a number of fronts in less than a lifetime, and it will take time to repair it, assuming we still can. The moorings that bound us to solid Judeo-Christian morality and integrity have largely been severed. The evidence? Divorce as a percentage of all marriages has increased from 4 percent to 51 percent since my childhood in the 1950s, with the resulting devastation to children raised in broken homes. For the first time in our history, more than half of all babies born in the U.S. are now born out of wedlock. Sexual abuse runs rampant. Our prisons have become overcrowded as the number of inmates has exploded. Drug abuse has reached epidemic proportions. We are crumbling as a nation.

All of this is reflected in our political situation in the laws and executive orders that government officials feel they must pass and the actions they take. When a self-centered population loses its sense of godly morality and accountability, rejecting the idea that a righteous God hands down absolutes to ensure the well-being of society and everyone in it, then government steps in to fill the vacuum with force and control to protect us from ourselves. Freedoms are lost when morality becomes relative to the feelings of the individual and when the culture rejects the concept of a holy God who judges evil.

Our Congress and our president have clearly failed us, even lied to us in order to manipulate our perceptions to get their way, but they are not the root of our problems. They merely reflect what we all have fallen into.

Where is the selflessness of the cross and the loving sacrifice it represents? Where is godly morality that ensures the loving sanctity of marriage, family and society as a whole? Where are the reconcilers who understand we have been given the ministry of reconciliation? Where are the Elijahs with the courage to confront evil and idolatry but to do it with genuine love?

Pray for the rise of a new generation of righteous leaders both in and out of the church who really get it while there is still time to prepare. The days are crucial, and the clock is ticking. We can shine gloriously as lights in the growing darkness or we can find ourselves overwhelmed by it. Let us choose the glory!

Liberals’ Quest to ‘Rehabilitate’ Christians.

Matt Barber
Matt Barber

The homofascist rainbow-shirts are at it again. They’ve unsheathed, once more, their anti-Christian long knives.

Back in April, I wrote the following in a column headlined “Religious freedom and ‘gay marriage’ cannot coexist”: “‘Gay pride’ necessitates anti-Christian hate. It must. ‘Gay marriage’ and other ‘sexual orientation’-based laws do violence to freedom and truth. They are the hammer with which the postmodern left intends to bludgeon bloody religious liberty and the Judeo-Christian sexual ethic.”

Liberals are anything if not predictable.

Chai Feldblum, President Obama’s EEOC commissioner – a lesbian activist who supports “plural marriage” – has called the clash between religious liberty and unfettered sexual license a “zero-sum game,” meaning that someone wins and someone loses.

Guess who loses in Feldblum’s book? She has “a hard time coming up with any case in which religious liberty should win” and candidly admits that liberals “want to revolutionize societal norms.” She believes that “gay sex is a moral good.”

She’s not alone.

Here’s the latest example of Feldblum’s words in action. The Oregonian reports: “A same-sex couple who requested a cake for their wedding in January but were refused service by a Gresham bakery have filed a complaint with the state, alleging Sweet Cakes by Melissa discriminated against them based on their sexual orientation.

“Oregon’s Bureau of Labor and Industries’ civil rights division will investigate to determine if the business violated the Oregon Equality Act of 2007, which protects the rights of gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgender people in employment, housing and public accommodations. …

“Rachel N. Cryer, 30, said she had gone to the Gresham bakery on Jan. 17 for a scheduled appointment to order a wedding cake. She met with the owner, Aaron Klein.

“Klein asked for the date of the wedding and names of the bride and groom, Cryer said.

“‘I told him, “There are two brides and our names are Rachel and Laurel,”‘ according to her complaint.

“Klein responded that his business does not provide its services for same-sex weddings, she said.

“‘Respondent cited a religious belief for its refusal to make cakes for same-sex couples planning to marry,’ the complaint says. …”

“‘We are committed to a fair and thorough investigation to determine whether there’s substantial evidence of unlawful discrimination,’ said Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian. …”

Mr. Avakian then revealed what he views as a “fair and thorough investigation”: “Everybody is entitled to their own beliefs, but that doesn’t mean that folks have the right to discriminate,” he said.

Here’s the kicker. Read it closely:

“‘The goal is never to shut down a business. The goal is to rehabilitate,’ Avakian said. ‘For those who do violate the law, we want them to learn from that experience and have a good, successful business in Oregon.’”

George Orwell much?

Get the not-so-thinly-veiled threat? Christians have a right to own a “successful business” in Oregon, so long as they don’t, well, be Christian – so long as they shelve their faith and submit to our ever-”progressive” government’s anti-Christian demands. “The goal is never to shut down a business,” but either you abandon the Judeo-Christian sexual ethic and dutifully observe postmodern sexual relativism, or government will shut you down in a Sodom and Gomorrah minute.

Brad, Rachel, Laurel and the rest of you left-wing bullies need to get this straight (so to speak): The godless left has been trying to “rehabilitate” Christians for over 2,000 years. We haven’t caved yet. What makes you think we will now? Those of us who wish to remain obedient to God will not – indeed, cannot – accommodate you and play along with your sin-centric “gay marriage” delusion.

Ain’t gonna happen.

Look, you have every right to dress up in two wedding gowns or two tuxedos, get pretend “married” and play house to your hearts’ content. You do not have the right, however, to force others to abandon their sincerely held religious beliefs, thousands of years of history and the immutable reality of human biology to engage your little fantasy. No amount of hand-wringing, gnashing of teeth, suing Christians or filing charges against those of us who live in marriage reality will make us recognize your silly so-called “marriage equality.”

Rather than trying to compel these Christians to participate in their counter-Christian mock marriage, all Ms. Rachel and Ms. Laurel had to do was take their business down the street. There are, no doubt, many bakers who share their worldly sexual morals (or lack thereof).

Imagine if a Christian came into a “gay”-owned bakery and demanded a cake with these words: “Homosexual behavior is shameful: Romans 1:27.” Think the left would be clamoring for charges against the baker if he refused? Me neither. In fact, I’d be the first to defend his right to “discriminate” against the Christian.

Or what if some anti-gun nut printing service refused to produce flyers for an NRA rally? Shouldn’t they have that right?

Or if some hippy bed and breakfast owner refused to host a conference challenging global warming alarmism. Shouldn’t he have the right to operate his business in accordance with his sincerely held beliefs?

Of course he should.

And so should Christians.

But … But … discrimination! “Homophobia”!

I know. Cry me a river.

Seriously, lefties, give it a rest. So-called “sexual orientation” laws are nothing like laws prohibiting racial, age, disability or gender discrimination. Those qualities are based on neutral, immutable characteristics. Even liberals admit that “sexual orientation” is based on “fluid” feelings and behaviors. It’s about what you do, not who you are. It’s about what you believe and who you choose to have sex with, not the color of your skin.

Ken Hutcherson, an influential black pastor from the Seattle area, put it well: “It has been said loudly and proudly that gay marriage is a civil rights issue. If that’s the case, then gays would be the new African-Americans. I’m here to tell you now, and hopefully for the last time, that the gay community is not the new African-American community.

“Don’t compare your sin to my skin!” he demands.

Some things never change.

Other things do.

Today’s liberals seek to “rehabilitate” Christians to their way of thinking under penalty of law. Liberals of old just threw us to the lions.

I guess that’s what they mean by “progress.”

Rep. Louie Gohmert accused the Obama administration Monday of going “out of its way to thump Christians” and promote atheism, as he called for passage of legislation to expand protections for religious expression by Christian members of the military.

Speaking on Fox News’Fox & Friends,” the conservative Texas Republican spoke in support of an amendment to the defense authorization bill to help protect religious speech.

“We’re trying to get it actually passed into law because this president has allowed abuse of Christians in the military, unlike any other religion,” Gohmert said. “We hear constant reports on the military. We’re not supposed to hand anybody a Bible at Walter Reed, you’re not supposed to bring anybody a Bible.”

“It’s considered an act of hostility if you give somebody a Bible on their death bed or mention God or try to help them even if they’re seeking guidance at the end of their life,” he added.

Gohmert told the Fox News show there were indications early on in the Obama presidency of a bias against Christians.

“I think we got a clue back early on when this administration appointed three different ambassadors to the Vatican that were pro-abortion. This administration has gone out of its way to thump Christians,” the Texan declared.

He also raised questions about the president’s own religious beliefs, saying that while he calls himself a Christian his administration has carried out an assault on Judeo-Christian beliefs.

“He celebrates Ramadan at the White House. When was the last time he had Israeli leaders to celebrate Passover?” the congressman said.

Saying it’s “got to stop,” Gohmert also pointed to the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups, some of which he said believe in the biblical definition of marriage.

“The old saying is, there are no atheists in fox holes, but this administration is trying to make sure there are atheists all the way to the end,” Gohmert said.
