Rep. Jim Jordan: No Immigration Reform Without Rule of Law.

Immigration reform is impossible for now because the Obama administration isn’t even enforcing current immigration laws, Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio says.

“You can’t do immigration when you have an administration that doesn’t respect the rule of law. It’s that simple,” Jordan told George Marlin, guest host of “The Steve Malzberg Show” on Newsmax TV.

“This administration, 11 months ago, when the sequester first kicked in, released 2,238 illegal aliens — eight of them … felons —and they did it because they were trying to prove that the sequester was going to be so bad.”

“You cannot trust this administration. They haven’t enforced the law and now we’re supposed to work with them and actually resolve things? There’s no way you can make that work.”

Jordan, a Republican, said that until a new president is elected and the GOP regains control of the Senate, a substantial immigration reform law can’t happen.

“There’s a few things that you should be able to do that we’ve done in the House, but the Senate and the president, they just want to do the comprehensive bill the Senate passed which is just a nonstarter and not what the American people want to see,” Jordan said.

“[Obama] hasn’t enforced the current immigration law, he hasn’t enforced all of Obamacare … The president doesn’t want to follow the law, he wants to do things his way, and that’s tough to have a partnership with someone like that.”

Jordan, who represents the Buckeye State’s Fourth Congressional District, said he wasn’t surprised by the low number of viewers for the president’s State of the Union address.

“It was more of the same. It was big government spending, big government regulation,” he said.

“If more government and more government spending were going to get us out of this economic mess, we’d have been out of it a long time ago because that’s all this administration has done for five years and so a lot of Americans just tuned it out.”

Ex-Sen. Joe Lieberman: Hillary Will Be Democrat Nominee in ’16.

There’s little or no doubt that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be the next Democratic presidential nominee, although she could face some early competition, according to former Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman.

“If she runs, and I guess she’ll run, then she’ll be the nominee of the party,” Lieberman told “The Steve Malzberg Show” on Newsmax TV.

“Interestingly, there could be somebody from the left who will take Hillary on because they think she’s too moderate.

“Unless something really agitating is happening, I don’t think that will be successful – something like a war that she’s supporting … So my guess is she’ll be the Democratic nominee. She’ll be formidable, but it depends on who the Republicans nominate.”

Story continues below video.

Clinton will likely have to answer questions about her role in the lack of security at the consulate in Benghazi, where terrorists killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans, Lieberman believes.

He and Sen. Susan Collins of Maine were among those who conducted an early Senate investigation into the attack.

“Our conclusions were very close to what the Senate Intelligence Committee’s investigation reported last week,” he said.

“We called our report ‘Flashing Red’ because, looking back, you look at the intelligence reports about the terrorist extremists gathering in Benghazi, you see that there is a consulate there with very little protection and it just seems inevitable that there’s going to be an attack on that consulate.

“Also, that there was no real ability of a defense department to get help to our people out there. So our conclusion was …. the U.S. government — State Department, in this case — should have provided more security at Benghazi or should have closed up the consulate.”

Lieberman says his probe never found “any specific proof that Hillary Clinton sort of made a decision not to provide more security. So the real question … will be to what extent is she culpable for things that happened in the State Department?

“She’s answered that to some extent, but I’m sure she’ll be asked it more and more over the next couple of years, particularly if she runs for president.”

Lieberman finds it “unusual” that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will not bring a House bill calling for additional sanctions against Iran — which is in nuclear disarmament talks with the United States — reportedly at the request of President Barack Obama.

“When it comes to Iran, the threat to the United States, to our allies in the Middle East particularly Israel, is so clear that if Iran gets nuclear weapons, it changes the world for us, for our kids, for our grandkids,” he said.

“I don’t get why the administration opposes this … I just have a confidence that in the end, Sen. Reid’s going to have to bring it up and when he does it’s going to pass … and I got to tell you that I don’t think President Obama will veto it …

“Incidentally the Iranians threaten to leave the negotiations if this legislation passes… I don’t believe that either. They’ll hang right in there because so far the negotiations have worked to their benefit.”

Huckabee: Democrats’ ‘War on Women’ Claim Demeans Females.

Republicans must fight the phony “war on women” tag that Democrats have slapped on them — a charge that is “incredibly demeaning” to U.S. women, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee says.

“Every woman I know who has an IQ above broccoli tells you that it’s an insult to them that the Democrats play them to be incapable of anything other than helpless and hopeless victims of their own gender, who are just sitting around wringing their hands hoping that Uncle Sugar will provide for them free birth control and a free abortion because it’s the only thing in life that they really care about,” Huckabee told “The Steve Malzberg Show” On Newsmax TV.

“That is incredibly demeaning,” he said Monday.

“It’s extraordinarily outrageous to assume that women, who are capable of running everything from major corporations in this country to running a household, that they’re somehow incapable of controlling their own libido and their reproductive system to the point that if the government doesn’t step in with $9 a month worth of birth control, they’re going to completely fall apart,” Huckabee said.

In recent years, Democrats have tagged the GOP as waging a “war on women” for its efforts to regulate abortion and because of a series of insensitive remarks by Republican lawmakers.

The most infamous example was that of former Rep. Todd Akin of Missouri, who said that abortion in cases of rape was unnecessary because “if it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.”

Huckabee said he can’t believe the GOP hasn’t fought back against the Democrats’ “ridiculous” tag — but he has a theory.

“Why Republicans haven’t taken that on is beyond me except for this: you have to believe something in your heart before it can come out of your mouth with much effectiveness, and a lot of times, some of our Republican leaders, they’re not too sure what they believe in their hearts, and therefore they find it more difficult to articulate,” he said.

“But anybody who . . . thinks about it rationally and logically would say that on its face the Democrats [who are] creating this phony ‘war on women’ ought to be pushed back and the Republicans ought to be talking about . . . [women being] accepted as equals, for them to be respected as people who are not victims of gender but capable of anything that a man is capable of. That’s what we ought to be talking about.”

John Bolton: Groups Will Keep Trying to Terrorize Olympics.

The terrorists who bombed a Russian city twice in the past two days, less than two months before the Winter Olympics, will likely attempt more attacks, says John Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

We should be concerned. I have no doubt . . . that [Russian President Vladimir] Putin will pull out all the stops for security,” Bolton told “The Steve Malzberg Show” on Newsmax TV.

“But by the same token, the terrorists will respond in kind. These bombings . . . are obviously intended to show they can hit vulnerable civilian targets,” Bolton said Monday.

Story continues below video.

Earlier Monday, a suicide bomb killed at least 14 people in the city of Volgograd, just a day after an explosion at Volgograd’s main train station killed 17 people and wounded at least 35. Authorities declared both bombings terrorist attacks.

Bolton, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, said he fears the terrorists “are going to do everything they can to infiltrate and make their terrorist case again.”

“I’m not myself aware of the prior Olympic games where we’ve had this level of threat of terrorism . . . If I were on the American team, I would be taking extra precaution.”

Bolton said he was disturbed by a New York Times investigative report into the attack in Benghazi, Libya, last year that killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans, calling it “an editorial disguised as a news story.”

The report by David Kirkpatrick intimated the attack was the work of local militia groups and not al-Qaida.

“They should be embarrassed about this, but I’m sure they’re not. It really is a tribute to their ideology that they can put this out there and hope that it will go unchallenged,” Bolton said.

“It’s just filled, not only with the inaccuracies and contradictions, [but] it contradicts previous New York Times reporting about the involvement of al-Qaida.

“So, I am just amazed that anybody would give this thing credibility. It’s filled with irrelevant facts to make it look like a news story, but its basic conclusion isn’t supported by the reporting that’s actually done.”

Andrew McCarthy: Closing Gitmo Will Come Back to Haunt US.

A former federal prosecutor says the U.S. media have largely ignored one of the biggest stories of the year: the gradual shutting of the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, where the United States has held terrorists since the 9/11 attacks.

“They’re gradually shutting [it] down . . . by sending these guys back to their countries, including two who were sent back last week to Sudan,” Andrew C. McCarthy, a columnist for National Review, told “The Steve Malzberg Show” on Newsmax TV.

“So, we’re now taking trained terrorists and sending them back to governments that practice terrorism and that are rabidly anti-American. Go figure.”

Story continues below video.

“So, it’s not just that we’re reining in the [National Security Agency] program,” McCarthy said. “The administration is really starting to cut off Bush counter-terrorism, which, as long as the president needed to be re-elected, he was all for Bush counter-terrorism.”

McCarthy fears the NSA stands to be weakened, “largely because the intelligence community has really done a terrible job trying to defend it.”

McCarthy, author of “Spring Fever: The Illusion of Islamic Democracy,” is a former assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York who prosecuted the terrorists who bombed the World Trade Center in 1993.

Allen West: ‘Duck Dynasty’ Suspension May Violate Civil Rights.

A&E may have violated the civil rights of “Duck Dynasty‘s” Phil Robertson when it suspended him for making anti-gay remarks in a magazine interview, former Rep. Allen West of Florida says.

‘We cannot start censoring people like this,” West told “The Steve Malzberg Show” on Newsmax TV.

“As far as A&E . . . it’s their business. I don’t know what’s in the contract, but if they suspended someone for their religious beliefs, that’s a violation of the Civil Rights Act.”

Last week, Robertson, 67, star of A&E’s smash reality show, was suspended for criticizing the homosexual lifestyle in GQ magazine, comparing it to bestiality.

He quoted passages from the Bible to back up his beliefs.

“GLAAD [founded as the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation] and other organizations such as them, they want freedom from any dissenting views,” West said. “The majority that is out there are in concert with Phil.

Ben Carson: I Can’t Find a Doctor Who Likes Obamacare.

Renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson says he’s been having “great difficulty” finding doctors who have anything good to say about Obamacare.

He told Fox News Channel’s Stuart Varney that he’s spoken to hundreds of doctors throughout the country about the Affordable Care Act, and not one of them “liked” President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law.

Asked if doctors are “in favor” of the huge changes in the health insurance system,
Carson that if they are “they’re hiding from me, because I travel all over the country and talk to a lot of groups — including lots of doctors — and I’m having a great difficulty finding anybody who likes this.

Story continues below video.

“It’s profoundly affecting what they are doing,” Carson said. “People didn’t sign up to become government employees. They signed up because they were intellectually gifted and wanted to use those gifts, to bring health to their patients, not to satisfy some bureaucrat.”

The retired pediatric neurosurgeon, who is considering a White House run as a Republican in 2016, also slammed the rocky rollout of Obamacare’s HealthCare.gov website, comparing the disaster to the time he took part in the first ever surgery to separate twins conjoined at the head.

“It requires real planning,” he said. “You have to get experts. You have to realize that you aren’t the expert at everything, but that you have to have access to them and you have to know how to coordinate them. Why they weren’t able to do this with something that is one sixth of our economy makes you scratch your head.”

Carson, who retired in May from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, first made a name for himself amongst Republicans in February when he attacked the president’s policies during his keynote address at the White House Prayer Breakfast, with Obama sitting just a few feet away.

In October, he told the conservative Values Voter Summit in Washington that Obamacare is “the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery.”

Urgent: Do You Approve Or Disapprove of President Obama’s Job Performance? Vote Now in Urgent Poll

When Varney asked him whether he planned to run for the White House, Dr. Carson hedged around the issue. But earlier this month he told Newsmax’s Steve Malzberg that while he never expected to seek public office, “the good Lord had a different plan for me.”
